My pet care schedule fits around my full-time job. I also care for my own cats daily, so animal care is already a consistent part of my routine. I’m happy to provide visits before or after work, and on days when I work from home I have more flexibility to stay longer, give extra attention, and accommodate additional care as needed. I’m also available on weekends for pet care visits.

Before meeting a pet, I think it’s really important to understand their personality, routine, and any specific needs. I like to know their energy level, favorite activities, and how they typically behave around new people or other animals. It’s also helpful to learn their daily schedule for feeding, walks, and bathroom breaks so I can keep things consistent. I always ask about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications, as well as any triggers or fears (like loud noises, separation anxiety, or certain situations). Knowing basic commands they respond to and any training they’re working on is also really helpful. I also like to understand the owner’s expectations and preferences—whether that’s exercise level, house rules, or anything specific they want reinforced. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make sure the pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
A typical day
I love spending quality time with dogs and keeping them both mentally and physically engaged. Some of my favorite activities include going on long walks or hikes, playing fetch or tug-of-war, and exploring new parks or trails together. I also enjoy incorporating basic training into playtime with fun games that reinforce good behavior and build trust. For more relaxed pups, I love quieter activities like cuddling, brushing, or just hanging out together so they feel comfortable and cared for. I always tailor activities to each dog’s personality, energy level, and needs to make sure they’re having fun and staying safe.

I’ve spent my life caring for both dogs and cats, which has given me a strong understanding of their unique personalities and needs. My experience with dogs includes working with a wide range of breeds and sizes, as well as serving as a daily dog walker after college, where I focused on consistent, attentive care through exercise, play, and companionship. I’m equally experienced with cats, having cared for them for as long as I can remember. I’m comfortable with everything from feeding and grooming to earning their trust and respecting their boundaries. I frequently cat sit for friends, family, and clients, and take pride in creating a calm, safe environment for them. In addition to dogs and cats, I’ve cared for many different types of animals across a variety of settings, including boarding facilities, pet stores, and in clients’ homes. I also volunteer with a humane society, where I work with animals of all temperaments. At home, I have two cats who mean everything to me and have been constant companions through important moments in my life, including my engagement.
