- For the pet I’m sitting, it’s important to have clear information about their daily routine, including feeding times, portion sizes, walks, playtime, and bedtime habits, as well as diet details like what food and treats are allowed and any foods to avoid. I also need to know any medical information such as medications, dosages, allergies, health conditions, and the contact information for their veterinarian. Understanding the pet’s behavior is key too, including fears, triggers, training cues, and how they interact with people or other animals. In addition, having emergency contacts, house rules about where the pet is allowed, and knowing where supplies like food, leashes, toys, medications, and cleaning items are kept helps ensure the pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
