I am a 60-something woman who started Rovering when my beloved dog passed 5 years ago. I’m not ready for a new dog yet, but deeply miss the companionship, belly rubs, down dog (yoga), park walks, treats, bad breath kisses, afternoon naps. These reasons would make me a great overnight, weekend dog grandma. My condo unit requires dogs to be under 30lbs. I live in Old Town Alexandria, John Carlyle Square with great, safe, shady dog walking areas. I do live in a condo, so elevator ride to the 4th floor would be required. My Rover reviews stopped in 2022 as I stopped Rovering in 2023 when I retired and moved to Denver then Alexandria.

Gwen is absolutely lovely! My dog Pepperoni loves staying with her - her home is outfitted with tons of treats and toys and plush spaces to nap. Gwen always sends me lots of picture and text updates throughout the day, and it's clear that she loves dogs, spending lots of time playing, walking, and being affectionate with my dog! She's always thoughtful, whether it's about giving Pepp a particular food or a treat, or saving her a sweater in the cold :) My dog is always SO excited to go over there. Would 100% recommend you to book with her!!
Gwen has watched my pup a few times now and is truly amazing! She ends lots or updates and always keeps my dog.. I will DEFINITELY use Gwen in the future!
Gwen takes such good care of Josie. She always comes home happy! I really appreciated Gwen going the extra mile and making sure Josie kept up with her training!

I felt so comfortable leaving my puppy with Gwen! Gwen treated her like her own and created a fun environment and lots or exercise! I highly recommend!
Gwen was amazing!!!! This was my first time leaving my little fur baby with someone she didn’t know and Gwen made me feel so comfortable while I was away for work. She even accommodated me when my flight was delayed and the drop off time changed last minute. She really went above and beyond and I couldn’t be more grateful. She sent me photos and kept me updated on everything. I would highly recommend if you want 5 star care for your pup Gwen is the way to go! I would definitely let her watch Chloe again. Not having to stress while I was away from my puppy was amazing bc I knew she was in great hands.

I live in a condo, so I would need a dog under 30 lbs. and accustom to hallways, elevators and a lobby that may have other dogs passing through.
A typical day
I live in Old Town Alexandria, Carlyle Square neighborhood. I enjoy morning and evening walks, perhaps find a dog-friendly outdoor restaurants. The neighborhood is safe with plenty of other dogs. It’s a 3.5 mile round trip walk to the Potomac River. Perhaps a stop at the pet store on King Street.
