I work from home and keep a flexible schedule, so looking after your pet fits nicely in my day. I'm an early riser, so morning walks or visits will never be a problem. I'm also generally home during the evenings and can schedule lunchtime visits as needed.

I have elderly cats and my home is set up for their comfort. I currently have 5 heating pads in comfortable places and multiple beds for them throughout my home. I feed them various diets, some prescription, depending on their needs. I feed them canned food 2x day and keep dried food out all the time. One of my cats requires medication 2x day and she gets that when I feed the wet food. I keep several cat boxes and clean them daily. My cats are extremely friendly and spend their days laying around me as I work, so they get constant attention. I will treat your pets with the same care as I treat mine. Schedules are important, as are following instructions and making sure they receive the same care from me as they get from you. I am very careful of any health issues and will notify you of any behavior changes or other situations that seem unusual.

I grew up on a ranch in the country and can't remember a time when I haven't had pets in my life. When I got older, I began training large-breed dogs (G. Shepherds, dobermans, etc.) as a hobby. I also had plenty of cats, birds, lizards, turtles, fresh and marine aquariums, horses and even hedgehogs when I lived out of state. I currently have several senior kitties of my own (8, 15, 16, & 17 years old) and have been volunteering with the humane society as a foster mom to newborn bottle-baby kittens since 2015. I also worked as a vet assistant for a time during college.

I am so happy to have found Gretchen! She is a lovely person who obviously loves dogs and cats (I have both) and has clear extensive experience in caring for them. My dog Sidney typically spends a day each week in her care when I work far from home. I have peace of mind when my baby is with Gretchen; she takes her on multiple lovely walks each day to beautiful places like the Emeryville Marina and has a comfy inviting space where Sidney obviously feels very at home. I highly recommend Gretchen to care for your fur babies!
The only person I trust with my animals when I’m away or working long hours. They love her and she keeps them so safe.
Gretchen was communicative and proactive about looking after Nalah, as well as watering my outdoor plants when they needed it. Nalah was safe and well-cared for during my trip.
