Hello! I am a Special Education Teacher and have a lot of experience caring for dogs and cats! I grew up having pets through out my whole life. I have been house sitting/walking dogs for almost 2 years. I enjoy going on walks or runs by myself and even more so when there’s a dog to enjoy it with! I have been relied on to give medication, feed and/or bathe any and all breeds of dogs. Your fur baby will receive endless amounts of attention from me focusing on safety and happiness! Typically once I arrive for my house sitting I don’t leave often. I love taking in all the dog time, while my lease does not allow me to have a pet! In my client's home, I provide attentive care by following their specific instructions for feeding, medication, and comfort routines. I ensure their environment is secure and engaging by offering cuddles, pets, walks, and playtime. On dog walks, we focus on safety and enjoyment, tailoring each walk to your pet’s needs and preferences. This includes providing proper exercise, monitoring their health, and ensuring they are socialized if that is what you would like and stimulated. My goal is to create a positive, nurturing and safe experience that aligns with your pet's routine and keeps them happy and healthy!

Gretchen was fantastic with my dog, Marshall. It was immediately clear that she has a genuine love for animals and truly enjoys spending time with them. Marshall took to her quickly, and I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She took him on nice long walks, gave him plenty of attention, and did a wonderful job keeping him happy and comfortable while I was away. I really appreciated how attentive she was to his routine and needs. Gretchen was also incredibly respectful of my home and left everything spotless. It’s not always easy to find someone who is both an excellent pet sitter and such a considerate house guest, but she was both. I would absolutely trust Gretchen with Marshall again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and responsible pet sitter.
Gretchen was really great with Suni and spent some time with him outside. She sent photos and updates during the hour and put up with the process to kennel him when she was leaving. We would definitely book with her again.
This is the second time we have used Gretchen and it is so nice to know our dog is in good hands. Our dog is getting older and she really pays attention to her needs. Plus the house is always tidy when we get home. Thanks again!
Gretchen is amazing! Her communication is great always providing updates while I was away. My dog loved her. I feel confident leaving my furry baby with her. She is our go to dog sitter.
Gretchen was so great with my dogs! I feel like she really cared about their needs & spent time with them. My doodle usually doesn’t go on walks with sitters & barely eats when I’m gone, but he walked with her the first night & all throughout! The house was clean when we got home & she sent pics & updates through the stay. Excited to have her again!

Schedule
I currently am working full time as a Special Education Teacher. My hours are usually 8AM-2:30PM. I have daily availability M-F at 3PM or later for walks. Weekends I am available anytime!

- Before taking care of pets through Rover, it’s essential to gather some key information from the owners to ensure the pets have the best experience possible. Understanding the pet’s personality is crucial—whether they’re shy or outgoing, energetic or calm—so I can tailor activities to their needs. I also like to know about their exercise routine, favorite toys, and any games they particularly enjoy. It's important to be aware of any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions to ensure their health and safety. Behavioral habits, such as how they interact with other pets or if they have any triggers. Additionally, I ask about their usual feeding schedule, bathroom routines, and any commands or training cues they respond to. Lastly, knowing their level of socialization and comfort with new environments can help me decide whether outings to parks or public places would be enjoyable or stressful for them. Having this information beforehand ensures that I can provide personalized care and keep the pets comfortable, happy, and safe while their owners are away.
