As a dog walker, I treat every pet like they’re my own — with patience, attentiveness, and care. I always make sure the dog is safely leashed, comfortable, and given plenty of time to sniff, explore, and exercise at their own pace. I bring water for longer walks and keep an eye on weather conditions to ensure their safety and comfort. If I’m entering a client’s home for pick-up or drop-off, I’m extremely respectful of their space. I follow any specific instructions they’ve left, such as wiping paws, locking up, or using a designated entrance. I also make sure food, water, and comfort needs are met if needed, and I always double-check that the home is secure before leaving. Most importantly, I focus on building trust — with the pets and their people — by being consistent, communicative, and kind.

During our walks, I make sure dogs not only get exercise, but also have fun! Depending on the dog’s energy level and preferences, that might include brisk walks, gentle strolls with plenty of sniffing time, or a mix of both. I love taking dogs on routes with interesting sights and smells — whether it’s a quiet street, a park, or a trail — to keep things stimulating and enjoyable. For pups who like to play, I’m always happy to include fetch, tug (if we’re in a safe, enclosed area), or training games like “sit” and “stay” to keep their minds engaged. I tailor every walk to each dog’s personality, and I love giving them positive attention, belly rubs, and encouragement along the way. The goal is always to make the walk the best, most tail-wagging part of their day!
