Availability

I work full-time remotely from my home near Morgan Junction in West Seattle. I'm available for overnight sittings, drop-ins (times may vary), and depending on my work schedule and your needs, I can either work from your home during the day (if there is a suitable desk space with fast WiFi) or return to my home office during business hours on weekdays. On weekday mornings, I will take your dog for a potty break (either let outside in your fenced yard, or a quick walk) around 5:30-8:00 am depending on my remote work meeting schedule. During the workday, I will usually need to return to my own home for 8-10 hours, so your dog needs to be OK to be left alone during the day. On weekday evenings when I return to your place, I will give your dog a longer walk (up to 20-25 minutes), depending on the weather and your dog's needs. I would then be able to stay overnight in your guest space. On weekends, I'm able to stay overnight as well, but I will need to be able to leave your pet unattended for 8-10 hours during the day, before returning in the evening for their nighttime feeding, walk, and bedtime. I may be able to accommodate special needs/schedules with prior discussion and mutual agreement before booking. For example, if your home is near mine in Morgan Junction, I may be able to do a mid-day potty break / check-in. I always start with a meet-n-greet before accepting a first booking, to make sure I’m a mutual fit for the pet(s).

Safety, trust & environment

For dog sitting, I can follow any reasonable care and medication instructions, including complex medication schedules. Generally, I expect to give a dog a quick potty break in the morning, either before or after morning feedings/medications. In the evenings, I provide a longer walk of 10-25 minutes, depending on your instructions. I have two wonderful dogs of my own; however, because one of them doesn't get along with other dogs, I keep strict separation of other people's animals from my own, and therefore can only be available for sittings/stays at *your* home.

Information Grant E. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or temperament issues I should be aware of, and what activities or treats they prefer.

A typical day

I like to play tug or fetch with dogs, or cuddle with them if they're allowed on furniture or beds. I also like to make sure they get a chance to sniff around the neighborhood each day! As a dog owner myself, I know the peace of mind and smile seeing daily photos of my dogs back home brings, so I'll be sure to text you updates each morning and night. That way, you can enjoy your vacation knowing your animals are safe and sound.

Reliable West Seattle dog lover

Pet care experience

I'm an analytics & data engineer and Eagle Scout who lives in West Seattle where I own two Superhost Airbnbs. My husband and I are lifelong dog lovers with two pups: Teddy, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever, and Winston, and 9-year-old Cairn Terrier. Teddy takes 8 medicines 4 times a day for DCM (heart failure), so I'm familiar with complex types of dog medical care requiring a strict schedule and vigilance for subtle behavior changes (i.e., special care for senior fur babies). I've administered insulin injections to a diabetic cat as well, and I grew up caring for several cats. My own dogs are reactive to other animals and motorcycles, so I'm aware of 'scanning ahead' and keeping your dogs away from things that might startle them on walks. I love to travel (50+ countries and counting) and know how important it is to have someone trustworthy sending you daily pics and updates to know your fur babies are being well looked-after, so you can relax and have a good time while you’re away!

Grant has an amazing way with dogs. Edith fawned all over him from the first meet. I felt so comfortable being gone for a week and in all the pictures he sent she looked so happy! Only hope she is just as happy having me back home now.

We are delighted to recommend Grant E. as a pet sitter! Five stars plus!! He has excellent communication and came to meet our two Shepherd mix pups before booking a stay in our home to get acquainted with them. He asked great questions about their routine and he took lovely care of them and our home and we’d definitely book him again. He also shared beautiful pictures of our fur babies every day!

Grant was absolutely wonderful with our high maintenance, reactive Frenchie Fudge, who has medical and behavioral needs. He was super patient, detail oriented, and loving with Fudge. It was such a relief having him in such good hands. And he left our home spotless! I recommend Grant without hesitation and we'd love to have him sit again.
