Your West Seattle pups best friend!

Pet care experience

Dogs have always had a special place in my heart. I grew up with dogs, and my husband and I have had 3 of our own over the past 30 years. Our last two were the sweetest oldies ever and since their passing we’ve been spending time with our friends and neighbors dogs to help us cope with our loss. We are currently caring for our “niece” Elle, a pound puppy mix, who is on an extended visit with us. She suffers from separation anxiety and needs to have someone with her 24/7. Our days are spent taking walks together and doing once weekly visits to a retirement community to provide therapy. Elle and I also do agility training at Four Paw Sports Center. I have had experience with all different breeds of dogs and of all different energy levels. I had my first dog walking job when I was 11 for a neighbors dog. I spent all of my required school volunteer hours grooming and caring for dogs at our local Humane Society. Our own dogs all needed elder care and end of life care with strict med schedules and feeding requirements. One had congestive heart failure, the other had Cushing’s and our little Jak had seizures, went blind and was mostly deaf. You can trust that when your dog is with me I will care for them as if they are my own. Elle can be there too if that is ok with your dog. She is really great with all different dogs and people. Grace is super nice, organized and communicative. She walked our dogs and we loved getting pictures of them and reading the note about their walk, she really got their funny personalities!

This was our first time Grace walked our 2 dogs, a friendly corgi and sometimes challenging toy poodle, and was great. She set up a meet and greet immediately and answered all our questions in a timely matter. She sent us several pics and videos which reassured us and our dogs looked happy. We will definitely request her again.

Information Grace L. would like to know about your pet

I would love to meet you and your dog(s) in person. Any and all information regarding your dogs like and dislikes, temperament, interaction with other people and animals would be very helpful to get us off to a great start. Other information regarding diet and food allergies, medications and/or medical conditions, if any. Training and maintaining training is a big part of developing a close connection with a pet. Please let me know if there are commands that you currently have or would like to have me work with them on. *For dog boarding & daycare, I will not accept dogs with any resource guarding and/or any aggression. Dogs must be fully house trained and crate trained. I only take boarding bookings for repeat clients. A successful meet and great with our dog, Elle, is a must.

A typical day

I love walks! During the summer, we will take Elle to parks all over Seattle and we even take her neighborhood buddies too. With your permission, we would love to take your pup with us on our excursions. I also have been well trained by Bohdi, an extremely active lab, to throw a frisbee and chuck a chuck-it. For those dogs that can't walk, or won't walk, I have a doggie stroller and I am not ashamed to use it. Your dog can either go on walks with our neighborhood pack or on private walks. Impromptu photo sessions are my favorite. You'll get lots of pictures and videos of your pup during our visits. If your dog enjoys being brushed, I can brush/furminator them on our walks or at your home at no additional charge.
