My schedule is fairly open! If you don't see availability that you need on my calendar, please reach out. I often stay in town for the holidays, so I'm your go-to, reliable pet sitter when you're away on vacation. **Please note that I am unable to provide 24/7 continuous care. For house sitting, I typically leave once/day for 3-4 hours.**

My goal is to keep your animal as comfortable as possible in their home environment. This includes their normal routine, feeding schedule, daily walks, etc. I know from my personal experience that our pets are the least stressed with minimal changes to their routines. For house sitting, I offer additional services, including: mail pick up, laundry, dishes, and light cleaning (upon request). I take detailed notes at our meet and greet, specific to your animal(s) and their needs, schedule, preferences etc, which I reference during their care.

Specifically for dogs, it is really helpful for me to know: -Potty break schedule (and location: fenced in yard, goes on walks, etc) -Medication to be administered -Food allergies -Aggressive tendencies towards other animals or people (if any) Beyond this, please let me know if your animal has any special needs or requests - I typically work best with gentle, friendly breeds that are relatively healthy. That said, I've worked with a number of older animals, and understand the unique care and attention they require.
A typical day
I love to engage pets in the ways they would with their owners- we will go for walks, play with toys, explore the neighborhood - anything to keep them engaged, burning off energy, and feeling comfortable with me as their temporary 'human.'

Pet care experience
Growing up, my family spent Saturday mornings at the Humane Society on our US Military base in northern Japan cleaning kennels, doing laundry, and playing with kittens. This resulted in two things: a love for animals + a deep appreciation for the inevitable work/sweat/cleaning that goes into caring for them. - My interest grew in my early 20's to care for other people's pets. This started with friends & family who knew my desire to monetize my love for animals to earn some extra cash, and eventually grew to a full year house & pet sitting experience for an older cat while his parents lived abroad. I was competively selected from a public listing, participated in a phone screen, and then an in person interview with the family before being selected as their house and pet sitter. - Now that I'm in my 30's, I have moved onto pet sitting as my full time gig. I'm taking a break from my professional career- I have my master's degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education- and love spending my days easing the stress and worry of pet parents, knowing their fur child(ren) are in great hands. - I spend, on average, 10-12 nights per month house sitting in the Lake Norman area. I posses a calm and kind demeanor and am comfortable with nervous and shy pets. I can also handle the energy level of a loveable Golden retriever! - Besides Goldens, I have repeat clients among the following breeds: German Shorthaired Pointer, Bernese Mountain dog, Lab, Samoyed, Poodle, Golden Cavadoodle, Great Dane, Chihuahua, Airedale terrier, Corgi, Yorkshire terrier, and any/all mutt mixes in between :)

We can highly recommend Grace if you need a loving sitter. This second time she dealt with our cats new destructive streak with humor and patience. Our kitties love her because she plays with them and gives treats and lovin’s every visit. We are able to relax and enjoy being away knowing Grace will make sure our delinquent felines are well cared for. Hope she will continue pet sitting so she will be available again!
Grace was wonderful to work with. She communicated very professionally prior to and during each visit and gave us updates along the way. Grace did a great job with our pup and was pleasure to work with. I would absolutely work with her again in the future!

Grace is amazing! One of my pups takes a LOT of time to warm up and Grace took her time with him and became a trusted friend in just minutes! She spent quality time with both of my dogs and sent photos of them having fun on their walk and in the house. Grace is very professional, has a great personality and is a natural with dogs. I could not be more pleased.
