Availability
AVAILABILITY: I can do dog sits on weekends, and I’m available for early morning walks and late night walks on week days. I work full time and do not have a pet of my own, but I will often take care of my roommate’s cat. When I take care of my family’s dogs during a work week I’ll walk them in the morning, leave for work (then a neighbor will take the dog out around noon), and when I arrive back I’ll take the dog to the park for play time, and then I’ll walk them one more time before bed. Pet care fits into my life extremely well because I love to stay busy, I love walking around and being outside, and I love to connect with animals- it’s extremely fulfilling for me.

More often than not I will travel to wherever the pet’s home is. When visiting a home I just try to make the dogs I’m pet sitting for as comfortable as they are when their owners are around. I do that by following the owner’s instructions to a T, making sure that the dog is given the appropriate commands so as not to mislead or confuse him/her, and by understanding the dog’s schedule and preferences.

A typical day
I love to take dogs to the park to play with their toys or if there’s a patch of woods nearby I’ll take them on a little adventure. I’ve also really enjoyed taking dogs to grassy areas and just relaxing with them while I read or do work and they people watch.

I’m a legal assistant working in NYC! I’ve had my own dog, I’ve taken care of my friends’ dogs (puppies to seniors), I volunteered at rescue shelters for years, and I regularly dog sit for family members!
