My schedule is flexible, with some set work hours Friday through Sunday as a dog trainer. I typically work 5-hour shifts, and on occasional closing shifts I may be unavailable in the evening until around 9:30 PM. Outside of those hours, I’m available for morning, midday, and evening drop-in visits depending on your pet’s needs. I’m committed to maintaining consistency and reliability for every visit. I also have reliable transportation, allowing me to arrive on time and accommodate scheduling needs whenever possible.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities during every visit. I have experience working with anxious animals, including my own dog, and understand how to read body language and create a calm, low-stress environment. As a dog trainer, I’m experienced in handling a variety of behaviors and reinforcing positive habits safely. My background as a veterinary assistant has also given me knowledge of animal health, proper handling, and recognizing when something may be wrong. I treat every home with respect and make sure doors, gates, and entry points are secure at all times. You can trust that your pet will be cared for with patience, attention, and consistency.

Information Grace C. would like to know about your pet

Before each visit, I like to learn as much as possible about your pet so I can provide the best care. Please let me know about your dog’s routine, feeding schedule, and any specific preferences they have. It’s also important for me to know about your dog’s temperament, including how they do with strangers, other animals, and any triggers or anxieties they may have. If your dog has any medical needs, allergies, or is taking medication, please include detailed instructions. As a dog trainer, I also like to know about any training cues, commands, or behaviors you’re currently working on so I can stay consistent with your routine. Lastly, please share any important home details such as entry instructions, leash/harness setup, and anything else you feel would help me keep your pet safe and comfortable during my visit.

A typical day

During a typical drop-in visit, I focus on making sure your dog feels comfortable, engaged, and cared for while sticking closely to their normal routine. I start by greeting your dog calmly and giving them time to settle in, especially if they’re shy or anxious. I’ll then take care of essentials like fresh water, feeding (if needed), and a potty break. Depending on your dog’s energy level and preferences, I’ll spend time playing, providing enrichment, or going for a walk if requested. I also reinforce positive behaviors during our time together, using gentle, reward-based methods. I always make sure your dog gets attention, affection, and mental stimulation—not just a quick visit. Before leaving, I’ll ensure they’re settled, comfortable, and that everything in your home is secure. You’ll receive updates and photos after each visit so you can see how your dog is doing and have peace of mind while you’re away.

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Grace, and I’m a dedicated pet caregiver with hands-on experience working with animals of all personalities and backgrounds. I’ve cared for my own dog for the past 9 years after adopting him from a shelter, which has given me real-life experience understanding different temperaments and needs. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I work with both dogs and cats, including helping rescue and socialize stray cats so they can become comfortable around people. As a Petco-certified positive reinforcement dog trainer, I focus on reward-based methods that build trust and encourage good behavior. I have experience with everyday training needs such as leash manners, basic obedience, and confidence-building, and I always prioritize a safe, low-stress approach. I take the time to tailor my care to each pet, whether they’re energetic and playful or shy and anxious. I’m very attentive and will always follow your pet’s routine closely to keep them comfortable while you’re away. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.

Grace C. is an animal lover. She easily relates to dogs and cats and has many other animal species that she is familiar with. Grace can be counted on to be clear with the expectations of the pet owner when Grace is with their pet. Grace is very attentive to pets when she is around them and owners will be happy with her attention to detail. Her experience as a dog trainer, at Petco, and her certification a Veterinary Assistant will support her time with the pets in her care. I am confident in submitting this testimonial for Grace C.

Grace is one of the most caring person I've met when it comes to animals and their well-being. She loves all types of animals and is an amazing dog trainer ontop of that. I know any animal would be safe in her care.

Grace took wonderful care of Tucker, and I can’t recommend her enough. She was patient, kind, and truly attentive to his needs. Tucker absolutely loves her, which says everything about the level of care and connection she brings. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking with Grace again!
