I work part-time as a Veterinary Care Assistant, typically working around 3 days a week, but I deliberately keep my cat sitting calendar flexible. Because I’m accustomed to clinical rotas, I’m very organised with scheduling. I use a digital calendar to block travel time between sits so I never rush a visit. For regular clients, I can offer the same time slot each day, which helps anxious cats maintain a consistent routine.

Safety, trust & environment

I care for your cat exclusively in your home, as cats are most comfortable in their own environment. Here is my safety and trust protocol: - Key security: Between visits, keys are stored in a heavy-duty key safe (coded, not labelled with your address). I never leave keys in a vehicle or carry them loose. - Entry & exit: I lock every door behind me immediately upon entering and exiting. I check windows and cat-flap locks before leaving. - Health & hygiene: I wash my hands before and after every visit. I carry a clinical-grade disinfectant spray for litter trays and food areas. If your cat is on medication or has a contagious condition (e.g. ringworm, upper respiratory infection), I follow isolation protocols to prevent cross-contamination between homes. Emergency preparedness: I carry a cat-specific first aid kit at all times. If your cat showed signs of distress, I would contact you immediately, then your listed emergency vet. I am trained to recognise early clinical signs that a non-veterinary sitter might miss. - Home respect: I remove my shoes indoors, clean up any messes, and leave your home exactly as I found it.

Information Grace B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know in advance if your cat has any medical conditions, medications, or particular behaviours I should be aware of—including litter box issues, aggression toward strangers, or a history of biting. I am experienced with all of these, but I need to know so I can prepare properly and keep both myself and your cat safe. I will provide you with a Welcome Pack and Behaviour Questionnaire for you to write these down. No cat is turned away for medical or behavioural reasons. I have worked with FIV+, FeLV+, diabetic, epileptic, and hospice cats. I have also looked after for cats who hide, hiss, swat or bite. The only thing I ask is honesty so I can adapt my approach. One important requirement: I need a named emergency vet (your regular clinic) and backup emergency contact. I also require a meet-and-greet before any booking so your cat can see I’m not a stranger before you leave.

A typical day

Every visit follows the same thorough routine, adapted to your cat's personality and needs. After greeting your cat, I empty, wash, and thoroughly rinse both water and food bowls (No topping up old water, it's a full refresh). I measure food precisely according to your instructions. I stay while your cat eats, especially if they need encouragement or medication in food. Administering medication (if applicable). I administer everything exactly as prescribed, recording the time and dose on your cat's monitoring chart immediately after. If your cat spits a pill or refuses a syringe, I note it and try again after a calm break. Litter duty! I check for anything unusual and note anything concerning on your cat's monitoring chart. For long stays, I fully empty, scrub with pet-safe disinfectant, and refill the tray with fresh litter once a week. Play, enrichment, or quiet company. This depends entirely on your cat's mood and personality: - Playful cats: Wand toys, crinkle balls, treat puzzles etc. I mimic prey movement to trigger natural hunting instincts. - Shy or anxious cats: I sit on the floor at their level, blink slowly, speak softly, and let them approach me. Sometimes "play" is just me tossing a treat every few minutes while I'm in the same room so they get used to my presence. - Senior or medical-needs cats: Gentle brushing (if tolerated), repositioning their bed into a sun spot, or light play. I also check for signs of pain or stiffness during this time. Final tidy & security check. I wipe down food areas, wash any used bowls, and do a second litter check if needed. I close windows, lock cat flaps, turn lights on/off as requested. Your update. You receive photos plus a written wellness check covering: mood, appetite, behaviour, and litter habits. That's one visit. I do this every single time, for every cat, whether it's a one-off booking or a twice-daily two-week stay.

Cat care experience

Hello! I'm Grace, and my life revolves around animal welfare. With my day job as a Veterinary Care Assistant, I bring a unique level of expertise and peace of mind to my cat sitting services. As a proud cat parent to two adorable kitties, I know first-hand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets. One of my cats is FIV+ and has complex medical needs, so I’m deeply familiar with the unique personalities and requirements of cats, including those who need a little extra TLC. I understand the anxiety that comes with leaving your beloved pets in someone else’s care, and I’m committed to easing your worries by providing reliable, compassionate, and attentive service. While many cat sitters can feed and cuddle your feline friend, I provide professional-level care. I am trained to spot the subtle signs of illness, administer medication with precision, and understand feline behaviour from a clinical perspective. This means your cat is not just cared for, but truly looked after. My passion extends beyond my day job; I'm currently completing my Masters in International Law, with a focus on environmental law and animal welfare, as I work towards my ultimate goal of opening a cat rescue. When you book with me, you're not just hiring a sitter; you're entrusting your beloved pet to a knowledgeable professional who will treat them with the same compassion and vigilance as I do my patients at the clinic. My Service Includes: - Medical Needs & Medication: I am fully experienced and confident in administering a wide range of medications, including pills, liquids, and insulin injections. I have a particular passion for caring for elderly cats and those with ongoing medical conditions, providing the patience and expertise they require. - Behavioural Insight: I understand that not all cats are immediately friendly. I am skilled in reading subtle body language cues to ensure shy or nervous cats feel safe and secure, building trust at their own pace. - 30-Minute Minimum Visits: Plenty of time for play, cuddles, and proper monitoring of your cat's well-being. - Daily Clinic-Style Updates: After each visit, you’ll receive photos plus a wellness check covering mood, appetite, behaviour, and litter box habits. I also maintain a hospital-style monitoring chart for your cat, giving you a clear, ongoing record of their health and routine. - Welcome Pack & Behaviour Questionnaire: Before I start, you’ll get a welcome pack including a detailed questionnaire about your cat’s behaviour, likes, dislikes, and daily rhythms. This means no guesswork: your cat gets consistent, personalised care from day one. - Custom Medical Monitoring (for cats with health conditions): If your cat has a medical issue, I create a tailored symptoms monitoring checklist and complete it every single visit. You’ll receive the same kind of structured observation I provide in a clinical setting, giving you total peace of mind while you’re away. - Home Security & Comfort: I'll water plants, collect mail, and open/close curtains and turn lights on/off to give your home a lived-in look. - Security: Keys are stored securely in a heavy-duty key safe between visits. - Prepared for Anything: I always carry a fully-stocked cat first aid kit to every visit. - Complimentary "Welcome Home" Service for Long Stays: For bookings over one week, I include a complimentary service to make your return easier. This includes a deep clean and disinfect of the litter tray, a quick clean and hoover of the main areas used by your cat, and taking out the bins. I'll even turn your heating on ready for your arrival! - Accessible Pricing: I believe everyone deserves peace of mind about their pet's care. I am committed to offering reduced-price cat sitting for those living in council housing or on benefits. Please inquire for details. Additionally, I don’t inflate my prices around holidays, so you’ll always be getting the best deal without compromising on the level of care. My fees are: -1x visit daily: £15 per day -2x visits daily: £25 per day -Overnight (also includes 1 morning and 1 evening feed): £45 per day Rover does not have the option to adjust prices based on number of visits per day, so when you enquire I will adjust the prices based on manually on your quote!

Grace is extremely patient with the cats and noticed cats having some unusual behaviour, and stayed with them for as long as needed for vet checks. Would definitely recommend!

Grace was an excellent cat sitter - very thorough and professional which was really appreciated as our cat has been experiencing a few health issues. It was very reassuring to know that Inkie was in safe hands. Grace gained Inkie's trust very quickly, gave her excellent care and communicated regularly with us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
