Highlights
Pet care experience
Safe and reliable animal care
I grew up surrounded by animals in Portugal, and my family had Serra da Estrela Mountain Dogs, two German Shepherds and a cat. Living with large guardian breeds taught me how to read a dog's mood, respect their space and stay calm when they're alert or excited. I'm comfortable with big, strong dogs, and with cats too. I also spent two years as an au pair in the US and often work with children, so I'm used to patience, routines and things not going to plan. I'm based in Montclair and available for walks, drop-in visits and house sitting.

Ratings and reviews
I have 1 medium sized boxer named Ruby. I had a family trip to the Mexico recently and Goncalo was able to watch Ruby while we were gone for about a week and a half. Goncalo made sure Ruby was well feed and walked. He was very responsive to my check-ins on Ruby and so easy to work with. Ruby isn’t always nice to new people but she seemed to get along well with Goncalo. I’m so Glad I was able to find Goncalo just in time for our family trip and I will definitely be coming back to him again whenever we go out of town and can’t bring Ruby with us. We definitely made sure to tip Goncalo well after!!
I left my cats with him every time I went on vacation this year and he always did an amazing job. I trust him and will keep asking him to pet sit.
