I ensure pets have their potty breaks on a frequent basis to avoid accidents. I ensure they eat the right amount & quality of food for both meals. I walk my dogs even though we have a fenced backyard so that they can explore, smell the outdoors and be stimulated by all of the sights and sounds of nature. I am very patient, understanding, kind and considerate of all animals especially rescues and those that need more training, discipline and positive reinforcement. I have had pets my entire life from birds as a young girl to a turtle to cats and dogs. I care about all animals and understand their body language and try to be attuned to their thinking so as to not bring fear or aggravate any stresses they may have. As a young girl, I grew up in a neighborhood with many stray dogs and learned from an early age how to read their body and how to move my own body to not scare or threaten an animal. I am also a foster Mom to other foster Moms that need a vacation or break. Caring for pets brings joy, fun and satisfaction to my life and could not envision a life without pets.

Information Gloria G. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know their habits: when and how they poop/pee, what kind of playing they enjoy, their napping times, behaviors by humans that bring them positive reinforcement, their socialization level with other dogs, and more.

A typical day

Take walks in nature and through the neighborhood to allow them time to take in all of the "smells". Also, use puzzle mats with treats to stimulate them with naps in between. Depending on the dog, we could play with toys or tug-of - war or even catch and retrieve. Every dog "plays" differently so I would need to know what stimulate each pet.

Pet care experience

I have cared for many different types of animals since the young age of 6 or 7. I have always had much empathy, patience and understanding for them. We cared for stray dogs, cats and a hurt hummingbird as a child. Christie was our family dog when I was a teen that was a beautiful Collie who I cared for till I moved away for college. Since then, I have cared for many dogs, birds, lizards and cats. I have educated myself greatly on the topics of pet care, behavior, training, feeding and more. I have served as a foster mom in DFW and currently assist Ay Chihuahua Rescue group in fostering and holding adoption & educational events. I also support foster families in their needs for our group. My hope one day is to have a big farm in the country where I can foster many more animals especially seniors in the short years that they have left.

I recently had the pleasure of using Ziggys and Zoe’s Pawsitive Playhouse pet sitting service, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! From the moment I met her, it was clear that she has a genuine love for animals. She has a couple of her own dogs who are friendly and well-behaved, making for a welcoming environment for any furry guest. During my pet’s stay, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. Gloria went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable and happy, providing plenty of playtime and affection. It was heartwarming to see how well her dogs mingled with my pet, creating a fun and social atmosphere. What stood out most was her big, caring heart. She takes the time to understand each animal’s needs and personality, If you’re looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter, look no further than Ziggys and Zoe’s Pawsitive Playhouse. Your pets will be treated like family!

Since I have known Gloria she has been wonderful with all types of pets, especially dogs. Gloria has rescued and then been the "loving mother" of pit bull terrier mix Beauty, chihuahuas Chico, Ziggy, and Zoe. I would like to share my story of Chico and Gloria with you. Gloria adopted Chico who was 18 years old. Chico's previous owner had passed and Pets Alive Austin (shelter) warned Gloria that Chico was very "difficult". This is very likely because of the loss of his longtime owner. Because of the love and patience Gloria has for all pets, Chico warmed up and accepted Gloria immediately. Gloria provided Chico with most love and patience I've every seen someone give to a pet. This was especially so when Chico began to diminish physically due to his age. Chico began to lose weight, his sight and was unable to walk straight. He could only walk in a circle. Gloria stayed with Chico and gave him the best final years he could receive from anyone. Gloria would prepare his food from our own meals and rarely fed him actual dog food unless it was recommend by his veterinarian. Gloria ensured Chico received the best medical attention without concern for cost. To be sure Chico wouldn't run into furniture because he couldn't write straight she purchased him a protective collar for his safety. Absolutely anything Chico needed he was going to receive because that is how Gloria treats all her children (pets). When Chico's time came it broke Gloria's heart because she gave all of herself to Chico. Gloria knew her time with Chico would not be as long as with others because of his age but she give him the best final years any dog that goes to heaven could hope for. This this day Chico is in Gloria's heart and she keeps his ashes, paw print, and photo with her in our home to keep his spirit in our hearts alive. This is just one story. Today Zoe and Ziggy our as much her children as her own children. She is 100% dedicated to their health both emotionally and physically. They are with her always and that is where she wants them to be. Tonight like all nights she prepared their dinner of fresh rotisserie chicken and vegetables chopped up small for their cute little small mouths. If they needed to be fed by hand, she would do that because of how much she loves them. This is how Gloria feels about dogs and all pets. She has so much love to give the pets she comes to know or meet. I know any pet she takes care of, even if it is just for a short time period, will remember with longing how much they were loved and cared for by Gloria.

I can't say enough about the loving care Gloria showers on her furry family members. She is kind and loving and compassionate. I have seen her adopt and foster special needs dogs. She gives them so much love and attention. One example is Chico, an elderly chihuahua whose owner passed away. Chico's health was frail and he was expected to only live a few short months. Chico was partially blind and deaf. Gloria was determined to give him a good life even it would be a short one. With her love and attention, Chico actually went on the live another 2-3 years. She spoils all her canine children. Gloria will be an excellent care giver to your little family member.

You will not find a more caring person than Gloria. Her love for furry friends is genuine. We can see her in action with her own pets Ziggy and Zoe. They are her adorable babies and loves them with all her heart. She carries them with her wherever she goes. As a counselor, she would take Ziggy to school every day and then started taking Zoe. Now at home, she gives them all the attention in the world and makes sure that they are always dressed in nice warm sweaters and feeds them with delicious food! Gloria and her pets Ziggy and Zoe volunteer and help homeless pets and help them in all the ways that they can help. She loves to foster the furry friends and protects them with her life. All the furry friends of the world would have wonderful and perfect lives if their caregiver would be someone like Gloria. I highly trust Gloria to give everyone's pet the same loving treatment and care that she gives her own beautiful pets Ziggy and Zoe.
