15 Years of Animal Care & Rescue
Animals are one of the most important parts of my life. I have 15 years of hands-on experience caring for animals at every stage of life, including newborns, adults, seniors, sick pets, and animals who need extra attention. I currently share my home with my two 10-year-old cats. I have raised kittens until they were ready for adoption, helped find them responsible homes, and remained involved in post-adoption follow-up. I also volunteered at a veterinary clinic that cared for cats and dogs with cancer, as well as animals with a poor prognosis. Supporting the care of these animals taught me the importance of patience, gentle handling, close observation, and consistent routines. I have visited and supported animal shelters, helped collect donations for animals in need, and assisted in making sure they received necessary veterinary treatment. My practical experience includes caring for newborn and senior animals, administering oral medication, and supporting sick or shy pets with patience and close attention. When needed, I can prepare, cook, and assist with feeding special meals according to the owner’s or veterinarian’s instructions. In the past, I cared for dogs belonging to friends and family in my own home. This included feeding, daily walks, playtime, and overnight care. As I currently live with two cats, I am unable to host other animals in my home. However, I am happy to care for pets in their own familiar environment and am available for multi-day or longer house-sitting stays, including overnight care. I carefully follow every pet’s routine and all care instructions. I treat both the animals and the home with respect, keep everything clean and tidy, and send regular photos and updates so owners can feel reassured while they are away.

Safety, trust & environment
Before a booking, I prefer to arrange a meet-and-greet so I can get to know your pet, their routine, and their home environment. I ask for written care instructions as well as veterinary and emergency contact details. I carefully follow all feeding and medication instructions and double-check doors, windows, leashes, and harnesses to keep your pet safe. I will respect your home and send regular photos and updates so you always know how your pet is doing.

Gizem helped me care for my 16-year-old cat, who had several health conditions, including hyperthyroidism. When the prescribed thyroid diet was unavailable, our veterinarian recommended homemade food. Gizem prepared it every day and patiently hand-fed my cat. She also accompanied us to urgent veterinary appointments and supported me during difficult conversations about my cat’s health. In addition to helping with daily care, she made a real effort to keep my cat calm and comfortable. My cat is sadly no longer with us, but my family and I will never forget Gizem’s support during that time. She became like a member of our family, and her patience, compassion, and reliability were invaluable to us.
Gizem is an amazing pet sitter! She took care of my puppy for an entire month, giving him lots of attention, playtime, and regular walks. She has also had her own cats for years, so I know firsthand how caring and loving she is with animals. You can leave your pets with her with complete peace of mind.
A few years ago, when I was moving to another country, I trusted Gizem with my much-loved cat, who needed special care, for six months. During that time, I was waiting for some of her test results, helping her lose weight, and making sure she stayed on a specific diet. Gizem took care of all of this wonderfully, and more importantly, she gave Patuk much more than just a place to stay. Thanks to her, a very emotional six months felt much easier for me and for my cat. When I was finally able to bring Patuk to live with me, she had lost the weight she needed to lose, her health was in a very good place, and she was clearly happy and comfortable. I also know how Gizem cares, connects with her own cats. So I can confidently say she is someone you can trust. Whether you need support with your cat, dog, or another animal you love, the care and affection she gives them will give you real peace of mind too.

Schedule
My schedule is currently very flexible. I am available during the daytime and evenings on weekdays, as well as on weekends. I can provide overnight house sitting and multi-day stays while my husband takes care of our two cats at home, so they won’t be left on their own while I’m looking after yours! :) I am able to spend most of the day with your pet. Apart from short errands, I will remain in the home and adapt my schedule to your pet’s usual feeding, walking, medication, play, and sleep routines.
