Pet care experience

Dog savvy! 🐾

Hi there! I am Gina - self proclaimed animal advocate and lover. I am very involved in the rescue world which means I am well-versed in animal language and their needs. I had many fosters through various rescues and have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a bunny of my own. I am a believer in positive reinforcement which means I will treat your animals with respect and never use adverse methods. I believe in treating pets with kindness in every interaction. I have a more ‘difficult’ dog myself which took very patient training to get him to even be able to go outside. With this experience, I know how to handle dogs that may be more reactive on a leash or take a gentle hand to guide them. I also have a very well-rounded pup so I feel I have seen both ends of the spectrum! My pup also has a neurological disorder, so I am comfortable with special needs dogs as well. I pet sit for all my rescue friends, and for some of them I am one of few that they trust. As a child, I dreamed of being a vet, and although that was not my career path, I still find joy in being around animals. I also volunteer for animal non profits when ever I can. I take close measures to make sure animals are safe and comfortable when I’m around and would be honored to be trusted with your fur baby ❤️ I also am available for CAT drop-ins! 🐱

Safety, trust & environment

I will follow any instructions given to me to best ensure your pet feels comfortable. I will take precautions to make sure that the animal is never at risk of flight, and will communicate if needed. I am extra careful to ensure the pet is safely indoors before departing and triple check locks for peace of mind. As mentioned in my profile, I am a positive reinforcement advocate so I WILL NOT use adverse methods such as prong collars, electric shock collars, etc. If this is something you use for your dog, I’m afraid we won’t be a good fit!

I don't trust the care of my cats to just anyone. I have to be 100% confident that whoever cares for my girls will give them the same care and attention that I would. Gina has exceeded all of my expectations in this regard! I have one cat that is typically very shy and hides when anyone comes over. Instead, Ivy was out and rubbing up against Gina's legs within minutes of her coming over to meet my cats! That says VOLUMES to me! I think animals can sense the goodness of people and she certainly gave Gina her stamp of approval from the very beginning. Both cats were loving on her every day in the pictures she uploaded to the site. Gina also included a couple of videos. She is my pet sitter of choice going forward! I simply could not be more pleased with the service she provided!!

Gina took fabulous care of my cat and dog and sent updates of photos and a video. I could not have been more pleased with her as an overnight petsitter! I would absolutely book her again.

Gina was fantastic! She helped with our animals tremendously and got great pictures of them too! She kept us informed on what was going on and the animals were very well taken care of. I cannot recommend her enough!

If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would! She was incredibly reliable even during HORRIBLE weather on Christmas day, and she even left my cats a gift! She went above and beyond for them and I am very glad I chose her.

Schedule

I work from home 9-5 M-F and with advanced notice can flex my schedule to accommodate drop ins or walks. My schedule should be up to date with vacations. For in-home stays during the weeks, I would ask that you can set me up with WiFi connection so I can work while I’m there!

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Gina can host up to 1 drop-in per day
Please let me know any behavioral concerns and typical behavior for their walks. If there are triggers or dislikes, that is just as important to me as their favorite things! I want to make sure they are safe and comfortable and that it is an enjoyable experience for them. I had a reactive dog…so I get it!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
