Availability
My standard booking hours are Mon-Fri 7a-7p, and Sat/Sun 8a-5p. Visits may be available for outside these hours, as available, but my preference is to complete bookings within these times. My calendar is updated daily and all known dates of unavailability are input with as much advance notice as possible. My primary care region is within a 15 minute/8 mile drive of Kitsap Lake/West Bremerton. Bookings beyond this will be considered, dependent on a availability, and may incur a minimal additional mileage fee. ✨ Extended Daytime Care ✨ (1.5-8hr continuous) is available on a limited basis. Rates may vary and should be booked at least 7 days in advance to ensure availability. If this is something you are interested in, please submit a request for an hour long drop-in visit to initiate.

About Gina L.

Safety, trust & environment
Safe and positive visits are my top priority. I am always ready to adapt my behavior, methods, and management styles to best fit my individual client's needs. I practice positive reinforcement and force-free training and am well-versed in animal body language. Your pets and home will always be treated with the utmost respect. Please let me know how you work with your pets and I will do my best to stay consistent!
Information Gina L. would like to know about your pet
I do ask that owners provide proof of a current rabies vaccine for all pets in the home. This is to protect both pets and people from illness and liability in the event of a bite or scratch. In addition to core needs such as feeding and/or medication schedules, bathroom routines, and the like, other important details I like to know include: triggers for reactivity (ie lunging after squirrels, scared of men, aggressive towards other animals), if there's a tendency to eat non-food items like socks or sticks, if an animal tries to door dart or otherwise escape. If there's a quirk with your pet that you've created a method to manage, it's probably something that would be great for me to know! Sometimes even the small things can really make a sit go more smoothly.
A typical day
I'm a go with the pet flow kind caregiver, ready to settle into whatever routine best fits your pets and their comfort. I aim to have a healthy mix of active, engaging time alongside practicing calm, relaxed behaviors, especially towards the end of a care visit. I am a huge fan of brain games and using fun, short training sessions to help tire out dogs (and willing cats too!)

VetMed & Foster Experienced Sitter!
Pet care experience
I (Auntie Gina's Pawsitive Pet Care) am a full-time, licensed and insured pet sitter dedicated to ensuring high-quality care for every pet, every time. Please note, an in-person meet and greet is required for new clients. "Office hours" are from 8a-7pm. Messages not related to an active booking that are received outside these hours may have a delayed response time. MISSION STATEMENT: Pets are family, and my mission is to ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved in your absence. I pride myself on creating a nurturing environment that promotes happiness and well-being for your furry, feathered, or scaly friends and work hard to meet them where they are at in the moment to ensure positive visits. As the proud caretaker of a small menagerie with diverse and sometimes challenging needs, I know how important it is to have a pet sitter that both you and your pets feel confident about. Work or travel with peace of mind knowing your pets are in Auntie Gina's capable and caring hands! ANIMAL WELFARE BACKGROUND: I have nearly a decade of specialized training and experience in veterinary medicine and animal rescue, including working with medically and behaviorally challenging cats and dogs in my years as an animal foster coordinator. I have been pet sitting part-time for several years, both with Rover and a private company formerly out of Silverdale, WA, and have officially been operating in a full-time capacity since September 2024! Beyond professional roles, I have a lifetime of general cat, dog, and exotic pet care experience, as well as 10+ years of special needs cat care with several of my own crew, who have run the gamut of medical and behavioral challenges. From tiny kittens to boa constrictors, at this point, there's little I haven't cared for and am always ready to learn about those I haven't! SPECIALIZED SKILLS: I can give oral and topical medications reliably to cats, dogs, and exotics (with a quick lesson) and can do injectable medications for pets that tolerate handling. I am comfortable navigating all cat behavioral needs (with or without an introduction) as well as dogs (with proper introductions). I always want your animals to feel comfortable with me caring for them, and in addition to a standard initial meet and greet, I am happy to schedule additional "getting to know you" drop-ins ahead of a pet sit. I will never push your pets into an interaction or situation that they are uncomfortable with and use only positive reinforcement methods. ADDITIONAL INFO: I do require an initial meet and greet for all new clients before confirming a booking, so at least 4-7 days' lead time is recommended for new clients. This initial meeting allows me to be walked through your pet's care in detail, and ensures that everyone is feeling comfortable and confident about proceeding. All pets must be compliant with local and state vaccine requirements, and owners must be able to verify a current rabies vaccine.

Reviews

Gina has been wonderful. Very communicative and professional, and always does excellent work with my dog. Highly recommend her services. :)

Fantastic with my lil furbaby! Professional, dedicated, kind and really gives the best care to my lil guy! Highly recommend.

Gina is incredible as always! Our poor pup had some anesthesia administered at the vet the day before Gina was supposed to start. Our pup started to have stomach issues which Gina was very well versed on and was able to calm our nerves. Also was giving us recommendations on what to do when we came back the next day! We felt completely at ease with her and knew Mika was in great hands! As always would recommend Gina 10x over for anyone
Gina took such great care of my boy. Very attentive to your pet needs. I'll not hesitate to book Gina again.
