When caring for someone’s pet, I believe clear communication is key to making sure they feel safe, happy, and understood in my care. I always like to know each animal’s daily routine—things like feeding times, walk preferences, potty habits, favorite toys, and any quirks or triggers they might have. I also ask about their energy level, how they are with other animals or people, and any medical needs, allergies, or medications. The more I know about their likes, dislikes, and personality, the better I can tailor their care to match what they’re used to at home. My goal is always to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible while giving them the love and attention they deserve.
A typical day
My days are structured in a way that allows me to give plenty of attention and care to the animals I watch. I usually start work around 9 a.m., which means my mornings are open for feedings, pop-in visits, or nice long walks to start the day off right. Depending on the day, I may head out for a few hours or work from home, giving me flexibility to check in and provide companionship as needed. I’m typically finished by 3–3:30 p.m., leaving my afternoons open for more outdoor playtime, beach visits, or relaxing in the yard with your pets. My schedule makes it easy for me to stay present and consistent for the animals in my care.
