I'm Gigi and I love all dogs!
Hello! My name is Gigi! Growing up I have had several family dogs that I have been largely involved in taking care of including; a large Great Dane-Lab mix and both a mini Australian Shepherd and a toy Australian Shepherd so I have experience taking care of all types and sizes of dogs. Apart from the responsibilities I have been in charge of for my own dogs, I also have a lot of experience house sitting and dog sitting as well and I would be happy to provide references. I love dogs of all sizes and breeds and am looking forward to taking care of yours! I am mildly allergic to cats so if you need me to house sit and you have a cat or two please just let me know ahead of time so that I can make sure I am stocked up on allergy medications.

I came home to a clean house and a happy dog. Gigi was very good at responding to messages and kept me up to date and informed about my baby. She also sent several pictures letting me know my dog was getting lap time and outdoor play time.

Schedule
I currently work from 8-4 Monday-Friday, I play soccer Wednesday nights some time between 6:45-9:15 depending on what time they schedule our game for (if your dog can handle being outside with that many distractions, we play at the Wilson playfields and everyone loves when they bring their dogs) and I try to go rock climb on Monday or Tuesday evenings if I can. Otherwise I’m pretty free. My partner works from home on Mondays and Fridays and she is also a dog lover (and cat lover, i’m the only one that has a mild allergy) but she could easily assist me with bathroom breaks on those days!

Safety, trust & environment
I work in research and am a certified laboratory animal technician so I can handle just about any behavior or special requests or anything that you need. If you’ve got a senior dog that needs a medicine injected twice a day or something like that, I’m your girl. I literally do that sort of thing for a living and have been extensively trained on how to do that. I’ve worked with monkeys, your dogs behavior won’t phase me. I also recently moved to the Gold Coast area and am about a block away from Oak St beach which isn’t a dog beach but has plenty of grassy areas nearby and has prime access to the lakefront trail so it’s perfect for a nice long walk in the morning before I leave for work and a nice long walk when I get back from work. I live in a rather large 1 bedroom apartment with my partner so there is plenty of room for larger dogs. The building is very pet friendly and our apartment is pet-proofed for just about everything except for dogs that like to chew on furniture and such.
A typical day
I love going on really long walks with dogs at whatever pace they prefer. Having just moved to the Gold Coast area and being so close to the beach has been amazing this summer, I usually do at least a 2 mile walk every day. Unfortunately I’m not aware of any good fenced in dog parks near me but that’s mostly because I haven’t been looking for one.
