Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because it’s something I already do with love and dedication. I have my own Shih Tzu—my little son—so I’m used to structuring my day around walks, feeding, playtime, and attention. I also help care for my sister’s cat and have years of hands-on experience from working in a boarding facility and volunteering at rescues. I’m flexible and adaptable—I work around the pet’s schedule, not the other way around. Whether it’s early mornings, specific medication times, or extra attention for a senior or anxious pet, I always put their needs first. When I make a commitment, I take it seriously. If I promise to care for someone’s pet—even a neighbor’s—I’ll go above and beyond to meet expectations and ensure the animal feels safe, happy, and loved. Responsibility and reliability are very important to me, and I always show up for the pets and people who are counting on me.

Safety, trust & environment
Right now, I’m focusing on house sitting, and whether I’m in my own home or a client’s, I treat the space with care, cleanliness, and respect. Before any visit, I ask where cleaning supplies are kept and make sure I understand the client’s expectations. During the stay, I always put things back where I found them, stay organized, and leave the home clean and tidy—fur swept up, floors mopped if needed, and everything in its place. Communication is very important to me. I make sure to keep the owner informed, whether it’s letting them know about an accident, how their pet is doing, or if anything unexpected comes up. I want them to feel comfortable knowing exactly what’s going on in their home, even while they’re away. I believe in treating every animal with the same respect I’d give a person. Every pet is unique, so I ask in advance about favorite toys, treats, routines, or any specific concerns. I’m flexible, adaptable, and always do my best to meet their needs while giving them the love and attention they deserve.

Information Giannely V. would like to know about your pet
Before sitting a pet, I like to learn as much as I can about their needs, habits, and personality. It’s helpful to know if they have any medical conditions, allergies, or take medications, as well as how they typically behave with new people. Are they anxious, shy, energetic, or protective? This helps me make sure they feel safe and cared for. It’s also great to know if they have any specific triggers or habits—like getting overly excited on walks, being picky with food, or acting out when they’re nervous. If you have any tips or solutions that usually help (like adding wet food when they won’t eat or using a favorite toy to calm them down), I’d love to know! I also want to be respectful of your home. Please let me know where things like cleaning supplies, paper towels, or the broom are in case of accidents. I’m more than happy to tidy up and make sure everything is in order when you return.
A typical day
A typical day really depends on the pet’s personality and what their owner is comfortable with. I always follow the pet’s routine and any instructions closely, but I also love to go beyond just feeding them—I want to make sure they feel happy, loved, and entertained while you’re away. If the dog is playful and active, we might go on walks or runs, play fetch in the backyard (if they have one), or enjoy some time with their favorite toys. If they’re more low-key, I’m totally down to relax with them—maybe hang out and watch a movie together or just spend quiet time cuddling. My goal is to make sure they’re not just taken care of, but also feel calm, comfortable, and like they’re having a good time while you’re gone.

Pet care experience
What sets me apart is my hands-on experience, problem-solving mindset, and genuine love for animals of all kinds. I worked for three years at Carter’s Canine Condos and Rescues, a boarding facility where I cared for dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. I also volunteer at local dog shelters to support adoptions and currently work with All of God’s Animals Ranch and Rescues. I’ve worked with puppies, energetic four-year-olds, and senior dogs with mobility issues. I always take extra care to meet each dog’s specific needs—being gentle with seniors and cautious with curious or excitable pups. I’ve cared for Labradors, Rottweilers, Pitbulls, Shih Tzus, Maltese, Yorkies, Australian Shepherds, Schnauzers, Beagles, hounds, and lots of lovable mixed breeds. I understand that not all dogs are the same. Some are picky eaters, some aren’t food-motivated, and others have very specific routines. I’ve given medication, prepared wet or homemade meals, and learned to calmly retrieve dogs who’ve slipped out, all by reading their behavior and acting with patience and care. On a personal note, I also own a Shih Tzu—he’s basically my son! I’ve been training him myself and he already knows sit, touch, and focus. I love building trust with animals and helping them feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I’m reliable, creative, and deeply committed to treating every pet like family.

Reviews

Giannely was very kind, attentive, and caring with our cats and with us. We highly recommend her!
Gigi, her nickname, has been helping me with dog rescues and sitting for my very temperamental dog for 9 years. She is very compassionate to the animals and gives her all when it comes to making my dog comfortable. She sits for my Greg for weeks at a time. He stays home and she comes in to feed, walk and or play with him. She even sent me a few photos of Greg while I was away. She is a very honest person so you can definitely trust her in your home. I highly recommend GiGi!
GiGi has been a valued volunteer at All Gods Animals Ranch & Rescue for over a year. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine passion for animals shine through in everything she does. She is always punctual, arriving early to help set up for our events, and stays late to assist with tear-down. The animals and fellow volunteers alike love her caring nature so much! Gigi recently adopted one of our rescues, a Shih Tzu named Joey and we feel that he hit the jackpot having her as his mommy. GiGi also goes above and beyond by actively advocating for the rescues, demonstrating her unwavering commitment. She truly is a one-of-a-kind individual, and we at All Gods Animals Ranch & Rescue are incredibly grateful to have her as part of our team.
