I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely take the time to get to know each pet I care for. Every dog is different, and I don't expect them all to have the same personality, routine, or needs. I pay attention to those little things and try to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their loved ones are away. I've cared for puppies, adult dogs of all sizes, senior dogs, and dogs with disabilities. I've had multiple house sitting stays with a three legged dog. Shoutout to him, the bestest boy! He gave me the experience I wanted in learning, so I can adjust my care to a dog's mobility and individual needs. I've also cared for senior dogs who needed a little more patience, a slower pace, and extra attention. I'm currently taking a dog training course and working toward becoming certified. I especially enjoy working with puppies and helping reinforce good habits and positive behaviors while following the training approach their owners are already using. Most importantly, I don't see pet sitting as just feeding a pet and keeping them company. I want to understand their routine, notice when something seems different, and make them feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I treat every pet as an individual and care for them with the same patience and attention I'd want someone to give my own.

Safety, trust & environment
I currently only offer pet care in my clients' homes, as my own dogs aren't comfortable around unfamiliar dogs. When I'm staying in a client's home, I do my best to keep their pet's routine as normal and consistent as possible. I follow all instructions provided by their owners, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules, and anything else their pet may need. I also take safety very seriously. I never let a pet outside unattended, even in a fenced in yard, and I make sure doors, gates, and other potential escape routes are secure. I'm attentive to their behavior and routines so I can notice if something seems unusual or if they aren't feeling like themselves. I also like to go a little beyond the basic care whenever I can. If an owner says a walk isn't required but their pet would enjoy one, I'll often take them out anyway. I like incorporating little enrichment activities, games, and sometimes short training sessions to keep them mentally stimulated. If a pet already knows some training, I'll reinforce it, and if they're interested and comfortable, I may even try teaching them a new trick. Beyond the basics, I really just treat them like they're my own pets for the time I'm there. I'll spend time with them, play with them, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they aren't simply being just watched but provided an experience while their owners are away. My goal is for them to feel comfortable, happy, and cared for in their own home until their loved ones come back.

Gia was fantastic. Not only did she take the best care of our puppy Clara, she took it upon herself to train our puppy with several behaviors (sit, come, paw, leash), so that when we returned I was able to pick up where she left off. She communicates several times daily with both updates and pictures. We have complete trust in her and are already beginning to plan her next booking!
As always, Gia was great! Communicative, sent lots of pics of our pups, and takes great care of them. I know we can always trust her with our puppies!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because it’s a big part of my life. I currently dedicate a lot of my time to caring for animals, and I have several recurring clients that I regularly care for throughout the week. Having those ongoing relationships has become an important part of my routine, and I really enjoy getting to know the pets I work with over time. My schedule can include regular walks and drop ins, overnight stays, and longer house sitting bookings depending on what each pet needs. I’m comfortable working around different routines and making sure pets get the attention, exercise, and care they’re used to. I also have my own dogs, so caring for animals is something I'm used to being part of my everyday life. Pet care isn't something I try to squeeze into an already busy schedule but rather something I purposely make time for. I love what I do!
