I work as a direct support professional; however, I’m not always on schedule, so in my free time I house sit or pet sit for different people, and sometimes I babysit too.

Safety, trust & environment
I treat every pet like they’re my own. If I’m in a client’s home, I follow their routines exactly: feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions—so the pet feels safe and secure. I always make sure doors and gates are locked, fresh water is available, and they get plenty of attention and affection. If a pet is shy, I give them space and let them warm up to me at their own pace; if they’re energetic, I make sure they get the exercise they need. My goal is for them to feel happy and cared for, and for their owners to have total peace of mind while they’re away.

Information Getlyne J. would like to know about your pet
It’s important for me to know your pet’s daily routine, any specific dietary needs, favorite treats, and if they have set times for meals or walks. I’d also like to know about their personality. Are they shy, energetic, a cuddler, or independent? Any medical conditions, allergies, or medications are important too, along with how they usually react to new people, other animals, or certain situations. The more I know, the better I can make them feel comfortable and cared for.
A typical day
I like to start the day with a good morning greeting and making sure breakfast is served on time especially if your pet is like my baby Bingo and likes to eat at a certain hour. From there, we’ll have some outside time for fresh air, a walk, or light play depending on their energy level. I check in throughout the day to make sure they have water, comfort, and company. Evenings include winding down with cuddles, treats, or a little routine they’re used to. Fun Activities I make sure each pet gets activities that fit their personality walks, fetch, or playing with their favorite toys. If they enjoy socializing, we’ll spend time outside together. If they like to be pampered, we can do a mini “spa” moment like brushing or a bath. And of course, if there’s a special treat they love (like ice cream for Bingo!), we’ll make time for that

Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Getlyne. I am a recent college graduate and currently work as a direct support professional. I’ve had multiple pets growing up, including two Rottweilers, one German Shepherd, two native Haitian dogs, and two cats. Since moving out on my own, I haven’t been able to see my pets because they are back home in Haiti. However, I’ve often cared for my neighbors’ pets whenever they needed help. During college, I took multiple classes on animal behavior because I initially thought I wanted to become a pet trainer. Over time, I discovered that my true calling lies in understanding human behavior—but I’ve kept and applied all the skills I learned about working with animals.
Reviews

Getlyne was fantastic. I felt confident that she truly cared for my dog and that he would be in good hands; and he was. She was also very good to work with to coordinate his drop off and pickup. I highly recommend her.
Getlyne has been helping care for my fur babies for the past three years, and I couldn’t be more grateful! She’s always reliable, even when I’ve needed help on short notice. She treats my two little ones with so much love, giving them all the attention and cuddles they need while I’m away. I know they’re always in the best hands with her!
Getlyne is an expo and responsible caregiver. She has a great sense of responsibility and will never let a friend or client down. Time and time again she delivers a quality of care you would expect from your own mother and never once has let me down. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a sitter, to take care of the fur babies you love the most!
