I work from home, which allows me to give our dog the attention she needs. I always adjust all my activities to be able to take care of her, but since she has reduced mobility, I do it even more. I take her for walks in a stroller since she stopped walking. But I used to go on at least 4 walks with her a day when she could walk on a leash.

I have a backyard with trees and sun and also a covered patio, and that gives me the security of being able to care for and entertain energetic pets, without having to take them out of the apartment. But in case the pet enjoys walks on a leash, and its owner allows it, I will be happy to take them and enjoy the walk with them. My background caring for Puki over the past twelve years has given me experience with all types of issues and circumstances that can affect a dog. I believe that dogs have strong feelings and need our attention and care just like children.

I am interested in knowing how many times a day I should feed the dogs I am taking care of. If I have permission to walk them on a leash around the neighborhood, and take them to dog parks. If they need me to administer any medication.
A typical day
I will use here an example from when my dog was still has mobility . We usually went for a walk around the neighborhood on a leash early in the morning. Also, once a day we used to go for a walk to the dog park that is a few blocks away by the East river. Now that she has lost mobility she only goes out on her stroller or to our backyard. This is repeated as many times as necessary throughout the day.

I rescued our dog 12 years ago on the streets of Argentina. I helped her recover and become a healthy and strong adult dog. I thought her many tricks and games. And now that she is a senior and has reduced mobility, I take care of providing her with all the necessary attention so that she remains a happy dog in her old age. These 12 years with her gave us experience in care at all stages of her growth, from puppy to senior. Before that, I have a background on my town’s dog shelter for many years, giving them voluntary support.
