Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in either my home or a client’s home, my priority is helping them feel safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I start by learning about each pet’s habits, personality, and needs... feeding schedules, exercise routines, favorite toys, medications if needed, and anything that helps them feel secure. Some pets want lots of playtime and stimulation, while others prefer calm companionship, and I adapt my care to what makes them happiest. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of both the space and the pet’s routine so things feel familiar while you’re away. For pets staying with me, I create a calm, cozy environment with plenty of attention, affection, and supervised play. I also believe communication is really important, so I send regular photo updates and messages so you can see how your pet is doing and have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is always for you to come home to a happy, relaxed pet who felt well cared for the entire time. 🐾

Information Gera B. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, it’s helpful for me to know about their routine, personality, and any special needs. Things like feeding schedules, favorite activities, medical needs, medications, triggers, or behaviors that help them feel safe are all great to share. I also like to know how your pet typically reacts to new people, other animals, and unfamiliar environments so I can make sure the experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible for them. The more I know about your pet, the better I can make sure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.

A typical day

Dog adventures are one of life’s great joys.. and exploring Portland’s beautiful parks/neighborhoods is even better with an enthusiastic furry sidekick! On our outings we’ll take time to explore all the interesting smells, enjoy plenty of movement and play, and bring along favorite toys or a ball for games. I also like to balance activity with calm moments.. whether that’s relaxing on a bench or in the grass while giving well-earned belly rubs and affection. If I have the pleasure of spending time with your “Lord (or Lady) of the House” (aka your cat) I make it my personal mission to win them over with playtime and patience. Whether it’s wand toys, laser games, or simply giving them space until they decide it’s time for attention, I enjoy connecting with each cat at their own pace. Having had the pleasure of having +17 years of cat companion experience, I’m also very comfortable with brushing, gentle grooming, and of course the peaceful art of cozy cuddles. Every pet is different, and I love discovering what makes each one happiest, whether that’s adventures, playtime, or quiet companionship.

🐾 Special Intro Rate: Limit spots!

Pet care experience

To celebrate getting started on Rover, I'm offering a discounted introductory rate to my first 10 clients. The best part? This rate becomes your legacy rate... meaning it stays with you for all future bookings, as a thank-you for trusting me early and helping me build my reputation. So, if you're looking for a sitter who genuinely loves animals now is the perfect time to book! 🌟 A little more about me: If you took a peek at my phone’s photo album, you’d probably notice that about 97% of the pictures are of animals.. mostly my cat and my friends’ pets! I grew up surrounded by animals.. chickens, squirrels, birds, cats, dogs, and even horses to name a few.. so moving into the city and suddenly not having a whole animal crew around me was quite a shock. Not long after, I adopted two very cuddly cats while volunteering at a cat shelter. Since then, animals have continued to be a big part of my life, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality when we meet. When I care for your pets, my goal is simple: to give them the same attention, affection, and reliability that I would want for my own. I have experience with shy animals who need patience, energetic pets who love to play, and elderly companions who appreciate a slower pace and gentle care. You can always expect regular photo updates and messages while you're away so you can relax knowing how your pet is doing. I also make it a priority to respect your pet’s routine and help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in your absence. My hope is that you come home to happy, relaxed pets.. and complete peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your animal companion! 🐾

Gera did a wonderful job taking care of our cat Jones. I trusted her completely, so my mind was at ease the entire time away from home. She sent lots of pictures and notes every time she visited. She did extra help by watering my flowers, feeding the birds and putting out our garbage. She even bought my cat a new toy which was so nice. I would definitely hire her again.
