Pet care experience

I am a veterinary nurse with a huge love for pets!

Hi there, I have been a veterinary nurse for over 8 years with a high level of experience and knowledge. I understand what takes to look after other people pets. I have been a qualified veterinary nurse since 2018 and have recently progressed into a senior role within my practice. I have spent my life growing up around dogs. I have only ever owned one dog, a jack russell called Digby. He was my bestest friend and I was very sad to say goodbye to him after only 10 years. I haven’t yet felt I wanted to own another dog but I think Rover is a step in the right direction. I have also lived with my partners family pets, Bertie and Boboo. They are boarder terrier cross jack Russell’s (seen in my photos). They are full of energy and love to bark at their own shadows! They enjoy long walks over the Weald country park and are very well behaved off lead. They always come back for a treat! I am very understanding of dog a behaviour and can support nervous patients very well when they are aware from their owners, in a hospital setting. I can apply these skills to your pets should they ever feel worried or scared. I have nursed hundreds of patients back to health from young to old, skinny to fat, soppy to aggressive and I will forever be grateful that I can do the job I love. You ask yourself why do I want to walk your pets? My first answer would be: because I just love dogs. I am known to point out every dog I pass and will comment on the breed and usually follow with a fact about that breed! Secondly, I love being outdoors. I grew up on a farm and since moving out I haven’t had as much ‘outdoors time’ as I am used too. Thirdly, because couldn’t everyone do with that extra bit of pocket money these days? I hope you have enjoyed reading my blurb!

Georgina is brilliant. Reliable and conscientious and the cats loved her. She is totally engaged in looking after her charges and goes the extra mile to provide a fantastic service. We will be using her services again and cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone who needs someone to look after their 'children' whilst they are away. Thank you Georgina.

This is the third time we’ve used Georgina to look after our cat and as usual Georgina was amazing in popping in everyday, keeping us updated and sending us lots of pictures. We came back home after ten days to a very happy kitty. Thank you Georgina, Hugo misses you already and can’t wait for the next visit.

Schedule

I am currently in a full time job as a veterinary nurse. I am looking for evening and weekend walks with your pets. For the right dog I would consider weekend boarding.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives on a farm/ranch
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I am fully trust worthy and would treat your pet like my own. I would walk your pet where they are comfortable being walked. I would only ever let of the lead once I build a relationship with the dog and would start with training leads first. My garden is fully fenced with a gate.

A typical day

I have lived on a farm in Upminster for most of my life. I know the area like the back of my hand. I would be more than happy to walk your pet there. We barely come across any other dogs so this would be great for if you had a nervous / anxious pet. If your pet has a routine walk I would be happy to accommodate this too. Or I live very close to Hornchurch country park which has acres of woodland and grass fields. I would really tailor to what your pet enjoys.

I would like to know specific commands. How your pet interacts with other dogs and also humans. I would like to know what terrain they prefer to do their business on. How much time they like to be walked? Do they have favourite treats? Do they like to have a ball thrown? Are they lead or harness trained?
