On the Road Sitting!

Hi, I'm Gina, and this is Coltie, my adventure partner and the reason every morning starts with a walk no matter what. I spent 14 years building a dog walking business from the ground up, caring for dogs of every breed, size, personality and quirk you can imagine. Dogs aren't just something I do, they've been my entire career and my greatest joy. I recently left it all behind to travel full time across Canada with Coltie, and I'm bringing everything I know along for the ride! If your dog loves trails, fresh air and genuinely being part of someone's day rather than just waiting for you to come home, they'll love being with us. I take the dogs in my care on real adventures, not just quick bathroom breaks, unless that's what your senior kiddo requires! Your dog deserves more than a house sitter. They deserve someone who actually gets it. That's us. I am happy to share my business name, website and socials during a call so that you can see all of my other references from the years I've been doing this work. I do have a training certification, have completed per cpr/first aid and I have my own pet care insurance until Oct 2026. Besides being outdoors, or road tripping I love to strength train and sometimes Coltie enjoys running with me. I enjoy live music and writing in my down time. Unfortunately I cannot care for your plants, even if you leave precise instructions I will still kill them. I've been camping on crown land and it's becoming very isolating, even with my boy Coltie, so I would love to be able to have more of a routine and be somewhere where I can be social. I suppose I didn't think I needed that much companionship, and I was wrong. I think Coltie misses his friends too. I wanted to mention I am also open to purely house sitting. In which I would clean (I enjoy this!), do laundry and run any errands that you’d need before returning home, such as groceries. The possibilities are endless! Rover only allows a 100km radius, I’m happy to drive further for the right fit. I plan to be in the Yukon and then travel to BC for the month of July. I don't have a specific destination atm for BC or a timeframe for how long I will be there. I am open and flexible for the right sit. :) I look forward to chatting with you! Warmly, Gina and Coltie.

Safety, trust & environment

I am open to what your pet needs. I do enjoy the outdoors, so hiking trails, or parks would most likely be in the schedule. It really depends on your dog, it needs to suit their special requirements.

We cannot recommend Gina enough! She truly treats our dog, Bailey, like one of her own. Every time we mention her name or our dog sees her, she gets excited, which tells us everything we need to know (and we have met many pet caregivers). We have used a variety of her services and have been consistently happy - off-leash pack hikes and walks, as well as overnight boarding. Bailey always comes home happy. Knowing our dog is safe, loved, and comfortable makes all the difference. We have zero concerns leaving her with Gina. Gina is reliable, professional, and always patient and friendly.

Gina has taken care of my lab, Russel, for the last several years. She always take us on last minute in an emergency. Its a huge relief knowing hes taken care of by someone who cares for my dog like their own. Communication is easy and straight forward Im never left wondering whats going on when we are away for an extended time. Shes knowledgable and reliable and I cannot recommend her enough.

Gina looked after our Lab. We’ve had many dogs over the years, dog sitters, trainers, and services, and none better than Gina. She’s a superstar. Our pets are family and Gina became family to them. No one better! In our experience, 110% confidence Gina will care for them as you do.

We’ve boarded our dog with Gina many times and our dog has the best time! We always trust that our little pooch is safe and is enjoying her time while we are away. Gina is so wonderful with our little fur baby and gives regular updates which we appreciate. Highly recommend.

Gina is absolutely the best. She is experienced and trust-worthy and treats the dogs in her care with love and affection. Our dog Crosby loved his walks and time boarding with her and we felt so reassured knowing he was being well taken care of and loved. Highly highly recommend.

Gina, is a wonderful dog sitter . She took a care of my dog who was a little bit anxious and would always make her comfortable. She is very loving with any type of dogs . She knows exactly what to do in any situation and I would recommend Gina to babysit my dog anytime . Your dog is in good hands with Gina.

Schedule

I am typically an early riser, I don't like to waste the days! The routine depends on the dog (or cat) that I am caring for. If your dog wants to and is able to do some hikes, that is my preference, however I enjoy neighbourhood walks also. I don't take my dog, or clients dogs to the off leash dog parks as other dogs (and owners) can be unpredictable. I am not gone from the house very long if I do make plans, very rarely would I spend more than 6-8 hrs away from home. I am always home at night and sleep is very important to me! Depending where I am I enjoy the gym so that is definitely part of my routine, as well as the hikes and long walks. I do have my own dog that would be accompaning me. He has been in a pack since he was born, and is my side kick for everything! He's crate trained, house trained, off leash and on leash trained and loves dog and human friends.

We can chat on a zoom call before hand to discuss any and all needs of your pet and your home. I do like to know about behavioural issues for mine and my dogs safety. I do have a certificate in dog behaviour and have owned and operated my own pet care business for over 14 years, so I know what to look for. Colt has been a pack dog since day one, and only dislikes unfixed makes. I am uncomfortable injecting insulin but have been shown how. I’d love to know if your dog has shown any type of aggression, if they have separation anxiety, are crate trained, food allergies, how long they can be left at home and where, if they sleep in bed with you, how they are on and off leash. Your emergency contact, I won’t sit without one. A physical key is mandatory incase of a failing keypad (it happens) Vet info and all copies of updated vaccines. Your dog must be fixed, unless they’re under age (6 months or less) I am sure more questions will arise when we chat.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
