Looking for canine, feline friends
I've taken care of corgis, terriers and weird mutts for friends for years. My family has had everything from shepherds to daschunds, and a menagerie of all sorts of other animals including some reptiles. I know how to read dog and cat body language quite well, and generally make friends with the new ones I meet immediately. I love snuggly animals, but I won't force affection if they're more aloof either. If you want your pet to learn commands or tricks, we can practice those! If you just want me to sit around with them, I've got plenty to read. If I end up getting a little bit dirty while doing the job, that's not a problem. I'm not going to do full time boarding in my apartment, but I've no issue keeping them with me briefly, or letting them off leash in the fully fenced dog parks we have. I'm happy to go explore a hiking trail or hang out at Zilker park if they need a larger space to run around in for a few hours.

Safety, trust & environment
I won't force interaction beyond what's needed for skittish pets, but I always want to make friends. I'm cool with lap animals or if they hang out in another room. I'll enforce any rules you give for them, within reason and safety for myself.

Geoffrey is AMAZING! Let me start with that. From the time he met the pups and me I could tell that they loved him and it was gonna be a good overall experience. He kept me in the loop of things going on and gave me updates and really helped me with the last-minute situation. I can’t wait to use him again and I came home to super chill and happy pups. Geoffrey took excellent care of our 2 babies (Oliver and Bandit). Oliver loves swimming Ang playing ball and I’m sure Geoffrey’s arm is sore from throwing the ball. Bandit is a cuddler and Geofrey gave him extra attention. He updated us with pictures of their walks and funny positions. We know they felt loved and spoiled in our absence. In addition, he took care of our home and alerted us when things that were needed. I especially appreciated his extra thoughtfulness!
Geoff was great! Lots of pictures and communication and our cat loved him.
Geoffrey was absolutely wonderful with Chip! We came home after three weeks to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a home that was in even better shape than we left it. He even took great care of all our plants. Knowing Chip was in such good hands made our vacation so much easier. Geoffrey is someone we completely trust, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have him care for Chip again. Highly recommend!

Schedule
I work remote 60% of the time, but do have to visit the office or help with field work which can be an 8+ hour day. I can do an occasional lunch walk, but prefer check ins and walks that compliment my work schedule. I'm happy to house sit for up to a week at a time but I need several weeks notice.

- How much/what training has the dog had? Any behavioral quirks, such as small animal aggression, not liking hats, etc? Any known medical issues, age related or otherwise? I've dealt with diabetic dogs requiring twice daily insulin after eating. What's their general personality with family and with strangers? How do they get talked to, firmly or with a cute voice? How many other Rover folks have gotten to know them?
