Hi! I’m Genn, a lifelong animal lover and new Chicagoan who would genuinely love an excuse to spend more time with dogs. 🐾 I’ve grown up around animals my entire life. My family had three dogs while I was growing up, and I’ve also lived with cats for many years, so caring for animals has always been a normal part of my life. I love animals for their very different personalities, and I’m the person who will absolutely stop to say hi to a dog on the street. I recently moved to Chicago and live close to several parks, so I already spend a lot of my free time walking and exploring the neighborhood. Getting to take a pup along for the adventure feels like the perfect combination. I’m happy to do everything from a quick neighborhood walk to a longer stroll for dogs who need to burn some energy. I’m responsible, attentive, and genuinely enjoy being around animals. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and attention I’d want someone to give mine, making sure they’re safe, comfortable, happy, and getting plenty of love and attention while they’re with me. I’m currently taking some time to explore my next professional opportunity, which means I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and pet care. Genn has cared for our two dogs while we’ve been away, and we’ve always felt completely comfortable leaving them in her care. She’s attentive, responsible, and genuinely loves animals. She has also helped administer their medications when needed and was very reliable about following their routines and making sure they were comfortable.
Genn was always so wonderful with my cat, Delilah. Whenever I was out of town, working late, or needed an extra hand, I never had to worry about her. Genn genuinely loved and cared for Delilah like she was her own, and Delilah absolutely adored her. I always felt completely comfortable leaving her in Genn’s care and would trust her with her again in a heartbeat.

Schedule
I have a very flexible schedule right now, which allows me to be available for walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. I’m active and love getting outside, so I’m happy to build walks into my day and spend extra time with dogs who enjoy longer walks and exploring. I can also sit on the couch and provide belly rubs and inside play. I’m also flexible with weekday and weekend availability and will always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine.

Since I don’t currently have any pets or children of my own, my home is calm and free of distractions, which allows me to give visiting pets my full attention. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and plenty of attention and companionship. When caring for pets in their own home, I’m respectful of their space and focus on keeping them comfortable in their familiar environment. I’ll follow your instructions closely and make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away. I’m also happy to provide photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing.
