Hi, I’m Genevieve! I own Genevieve's Animal Care, a premiere animal care service in West Los Angeles, offering personalized, loving care for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish and reptiles, with peace of mind at affordable rates, serving Marina del Rey, Del Rey, Mar Vista, Venice, Santa Monica and Culver West. I have been a lifelong animal lover and animal welfare advocate, growing up in New York City in a family of animal lovers, being a 'sister' to my kitties and hamsters, and being a neighborhood dog walker from the age of 12. As an adult, I have been a proud and loving mom to 4 rabbits, 5 cats, 7 dogs and a horse. I earned my post-baccalaureate degree in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a 3.9 GPA in my 30s. I worked for 5 years as a core volunteer member of Rabbit, Rescue and Rehab, the NYC Chapter of the House Rabbit Society, facilitating adoptions, educating the public on rabbit husbandry, and fostering over 10 medical-needs rabbits. I worked as the sole veterinary technician for NYC's top-ranking house call veterinary practice, Village House Call Vet, and helped to build the business with owner and veterinarian, Dr. Carolyn Quagliata, in the first 2 years of its inception and was the pet sitter for many of our clients throughout NYC. I then became the very first intern in the new 4-Month Intern Program in Cat World at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the largest domestic animal sanctuary in the country, in Kanab, Utah, followed by earning the position of veterinary technician at the Clinic and visiting vet tech for the Rabbit Department for 2.5 years. I recently spearheaded a 50-rabbit rescue, vetting and adopting them all within 6 months. I now work in Client Relations at a prominent vet hospital in Hollywood. I have owned and run Genevieve's Animal Care from 2007 onward, full-time and more recently part-time, to care for family's beloved pets in their humans' absence with a huge heart and peace of mind for all! I have recently moved to the Del Rey area of West Los Angeles where I continue to care for furry, feathered and scaled kiddos at my clients' homes and also at visitors' vacation rentals and hotels. As a veterinary nurse, I bring a wealth of knowledge and skills regarding medical administration and nutrition for dogs, cats and rabbits, and I have extensive husbandry experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, pigs, goats, birds, fish and reptiles. I am known for great compassion and love for all animals and their people, strong client relations, exceptional interpersonal communication skills, keen attention to detail and outstanding customer service. I have full Pet Care Insurance for extra peace of mind. For the past 30 years, I have also been an avid gardener and love to tend my clients' plants and trees. I live in the Del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles with my wonderful partner Seth. We are the loving parents of a Bernese Mt Dog puppy mill rescue "Josie", rescue kitty "Tiger" & 2 rescued Californian rabbits "Wally" and "Wilbur". I offer drop-in pet sitting for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and reptiles and dog walking on the weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, in my clients' homes and visitors' vacation rentals and hotels. I am also an avid gardener and love tending my clients' plants and trees too. I am happy to take care of mail and light house tidying. I can offer drop-in visits from 30 minutes each on up to full-day stays. I care for your animals in your home, vacation rental, hotel room, with the same care as my own animal kids and my own home, and I am fully insured. I care for the animals and home of one family at a time for the most individualized care and attention. I am super detail-oriented, take notes during our meet and greet and follow your directions carefully. I have owned & run my pet sitting service since 2007 to care for family's beloved pets in their humans' absence, with a huge heart, giving both animals & their families peace of mind!

We vacationed and stayed at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and needed a pet-sitter for our German Shepherd so we could go on sanctuary tours 3 days in a row. Genevieve was wonderful with communication starting in advance from the time of booking. She was excellent with our dog who greeted her like a long-lost friend after the first day. Genevieve understood special instructions regarding our dog and we felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. We highly recommend Genevieve!

Genevieve was just what we needed to make sure our doggie had what she needed when we headed out for a half day excursion in the area. Genevieve stopped by - walked her, played with her, and broke up the time Angel was in the hotel room. The Best Friends Roadhouse was the absolute best place for us to stay with our pet. Thank you to all that helped make sure our vacation was worry free.
