Pet care experience

Experienced with rescue, anxious & high need dogs!

I'm a caring and committed dog and animal lover, highly experienced in pet-sitting and walking. I began pet sitting after my own dog sadly died and I absolutely love meeting new dogs (and cats and other animals), getting to know them and taking care of them so they are as comfortable and happy as can be whilst you're away My own previous dog was a very anxious rescue dog, who was highly reactive to traffic. When I adopted him he was a shivering wreck, but over the years I owned him I worked closely with behaviourists and learned a lot about understanding dog behaviour, reading dog body language and catering to a dog's particular individual needs, all using positive reinforcement, kindness and trust-building. Since then I have cared for other peoples dogs as a sitter and walker, and have an understanding of how to build trust with a new animal and understand each animal as an individual with their own personality and quirks. I can offer a confident, loving and calming presence for your dog. I will not miss signs that they need something, and I can cater to specific needs such as reactivity, guarding behaivours, or destructive tendencies if nescessary. I am equally happy with a relaxed couch potato who just wants cuddles, a nervous dog who needs their own space, or a bouncy pup who needs lots of stimulation! I have an exellent record taking vare of peoples homes as a sitter and over many different sits have taken care of cats, ponies, sheep and pigs too! Please not I prefer bookings of four nights minumum. Many thanks

Safety, trust & environment

I would dog sit for you in your home. I'm a 39-year old woman, very reliable, clean and tidy, and I'd care for your home as if it were my own. Unfortunately I cannot offer boarding in my own home.

Gen was great! She came out to meet the dogs before the sitting and this was very useful. The dogs were happy to see her and settled well. I was kept updated with photos and messages on a regular basis. The house was also well cared for and all plants still alive !! Perfect service … thank you again Gen !!

Thank you so much for taking such great care of Huxley! He’s quite a high-energy spaniel who loves lots of interaction. Gen did an amazing job keeping him engaged with different games and taking him on lovely walks. When we arrived home, Huxley was very affectionate towards her which really showed how comfortable and happy she had made him feel. We’re so grateful to not have to worry while we were away.

Genevieve was very keen to look after Mac and when she arrived, Mac was visibly happy to see her. Lots of tail wagging and attention. Whilst we were away to Ireland for a wedding, Genevieve sent regular updates and pictures of Mac playing, resting and looking completely content. We would have no hesitation in recommending her services to other potential dog owners and with employing her services again!

Gen was absolutely amazing with our 2 spaniels. It was clear on our return how much they enjoyed her company, and from the regular photo updates we received from Gen throughout our time away! Both of our dogs can be anxious in their own ways but Gen listened to our instructions and was able to handle them both with no issues. We would absolutely trust her to look after them both for us again!
