I have ample indoor space to care for your pet(s) at my home, an enclosed walled garden and plenty of walking routes and fields right on our doorstep. A typical day

Our dog Monty is a very energetic pup! He loves to run, so he walks (runs) us at least twice a day! We spend time playing throughout the day with activities that encourage mental stimulation, sniffing especially stimulates and exercises the brain which is just as important as physical exercise. There are also lots of cuddles to be had!

Pet care experience

I am an experienced pet owner and have cared for animals such as guinea-pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, donkeys, horses and birds of prey over the last 25 years. I have also previously worked at two well known animal rescue sanctuaries. I can provide a loving home away from home for your pet(s) or a drop in visit to your own home. My whole family are animal lovers, my two daughters are used to being around different kinds of animals and understand the care, attention and respect that they deserve. Currently we have living with us; two mini-lop bunnies called Basil and Berry and a Cocker Spaniel called Monty, all rescues that are now firmly part of our family.

It was the first time we had left our dog and we felt reassured by Gemma’s kind nature. We had regular updates and photos while we were away and our dog seemed happy and calm on our return. We would definitely leave her with Gemma again. Thank you.

This was Meg’s third stay with Gemma and her family. I always feel happy to leave Meg with them, knowing that she will be well-looked after and will have lots of fun with her friend Monty! Gemma sends regular updates and takes Meg on nice walks too. Thank you again Gemma, I’m sure Meg will be back soon!

Our little 9 month old mini dachshund Pickles has just stayed with Gemma for 5 nights. It was his first ever time away from his and I was so nervous and sad about leaving him. I had nothing to worry about though as he was given so much love and attention. Gemma kept me updated regularly throughout each day and I could see Pickles was having a great time. Gemma knew exactly what Pickles needed and was very familiar with the breed and their little traits - for example not enjoying walks in the rain at all and therefore playing inside and having cuddles instead! We will definitely use her again. Thanks Gemma.

As always Juno had the best time with Gemma and Monty. Regular updates and photos of her adventures kept us in the loop and assured she was enjoying her mini-holiday. Thank you x
