I am a 40 year old, animal lover. A few years ago I had to say goodbye to my Beagle, Roxy, who was 13 years old as I lost her to cancer. For a while I couldn’t bring myself to love another 4 legged baby of my own and so that’s when I started to look after other peoples baby's who I looked after as if they were my own. However, I have now just got my own baby, Shelby the beagle. I also have a rabbit and hamster (all are safely away from the doggies). I love all animals, caring for animals is my passion and hobby. Due to my employment type, I have a full enhanced DBS check and this is via the update service, so you know I am a suitable person to care for animals. I work from home, so I am always home and the pets staying at mine have the option of sleeping on my bed, sleeping on their bed and in any room you would prefer. I have a spare room that they can sleep in, can sleep with me or downstairs. I will stick to your rules at your house but I am happy for them to go upstairs and in any room, on the sofa or beds. Walks everyday, to an amount you would desire. Usually a minimum of 2x 1 hour walks (if this suits your fur baby). They would be treated like royalty. I really love all animals. I have an 11 year old little boy who is also a massive animal lover and will play with your little one if you are happy for this. He is very gentle and loving because he has been around all animals big and small all his life. I look forward to meeting your fur baby and having lots of cuddles.

Benjie came back from his first stay with Gemma a very happy bunny. He enjoyed playing with her dog and he is always happy with children. He will definitely be back to Gemma when we dog sitting out of our house.
Again Rafa had a fantastic time with Gemma, and I was completely relaxed knowing that he was in such amazing hands! Thank you again Gemma.
Gemma was friendly, accommodating and very attentive to our dog’s needs. We were delighted to hear she took our dog for nice long walks and she was well cared for throughout her stay in her lovely home. Gemma was very flexible despite our last minute booking, we really appreciated it.
Gemma and Cory have looked after our lovely energetic snuggle loving Milo again. He always has a brilliant time, is well looked after and we have no worries or guilt about leaving him as they love him just as much as we do. Thanks again guys and see you soon.
Our border terrier Lenny stayed with Gemma for 3 nights and had a brilliant time - he sulked all evening after we picked him up after his stay, so he must have enjoyed himself! Gemma was very responsive to messages, sent regular updates and photos/ videos, and was very accommodating of Lenny's preferences and needs. We felt very happy that he was in safe hands- 100% would recommend and return 😀

Schedule
I work from home and so they will never be left alone. Walks can take place before work (8:30am) during lunchtime and after work 5:30pm. They will have regular toilet breaks in the fenced off garden and can sleep next to me whilst I work during the day. Weekends are for long walks on the canal, the woods or by the river. (let me know how long you would like to limit or would require as a minimum)

Your pet can treat my home as if it were their own. I allow my pets on the sofa, beds and in all rooms but if you prefer I follow stricter rules, please let me know.

A typical day
I love animals and I love to spend time with them. I will give your 4 legged baby lots of love and care but also fun. We will walk on the canal, in the woods, along the river and to local cafes and country pubs for a spot of lunch on a weekend after a long walk. Play ball, fetch and tug of war. Anything they like to play. I have a 9 year old boy who is the best with animals as it’s all he has ever known. We have horses, rabbits and hamsters, and have always had dogs in our house, our Roxy and my family all have dogs too. Lots of fun, cuddles and exercise will be offered to your little furry friend.
