Pets need attention mostly all the time, that is unless you have a cat who is very sleepy. I usually just check to make sure everything is clean and food/water is full for cats. If they need something specific, usually you'll know quickly. But dogs are a little different. They need more attention and lots of loving. They have schedules, love to play, and need to go out multiple times a day. Based on different animals, they will need different care. Luckily I have experience with both, which makes it easier to provide good care.

I'd like to know ahead of time what your animals specifically need. Sometimes sitters are informed of something small, but not the big idea of it. It's best to know what you are getting into instead of walking in blind, even if it takes the fun out of being surprised.
A typical day
With dogs, I like to try getting them outside a bit, perhaps to play ball, run, or simply walk around. Cats sometimes have different types of interests, but I usually play with them with a lazer, string, or a small toy that peaks their interest.

I have taken care of a dog named Cali since she was a pup and a cat named Honey since he was a kitten! Taking care of both is difficult, but it got easier when knowing what they needed and when they needed it, like with basic needs; such as litter box cleaning, when to go outside, when to be fed, and when it is time to play.
