I currently work part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! With a little notice, I can be available throughout most weekends and quite flexibly Mon, Wed, and Fri—including days and even overnights. Happy to drop in for scratches and playtime, take ‘em out for a ramble, or stick around for a longer stay.

Since the age of 10 I have been comfortable caring for and boarding with pets in their homes, maintaining their usual routines and livening up their activities—as well as keeping up house-sitting tasks as needed. I believe in meeting the animal where they are and being responsive to their clues, but will always maintain the boundaries established by you, their human. As a seasoned professional with a long track record as an administrator, arts leader, and professor, I can be trusted to be discreet. reliable, responsible, responsive, honest, prompt, careful, and considerate. Whether in your home or out at the park, romping or feeding or just accompanying, I will always respect your requirements and your pet's best interests.

Let me know in advance if your dog or cat has any special needs or preferences and I’ll accommodate. Medicines of course, or other special regime, but even just favorite treats or toys, activities or interests. Do they like music? Runs in the park? Are they picky eaters? Crave raw spinach? Love to play catch? Maybe they’re training some new skills. Just let me know, we’ll work it out and work it in.

I love to give my little pals as much attention and excitement as they crave. If they want snuggles and indoor romps, tugging on a chew toy or chasing kibbles, I’ll outlast their attention every time. Up for some time in the park, or a sniff around the neighborhood? Let’s go! I can stick close to home or take them on longer adventures, and give them whatever quality time makes them happiest. Young and eager, slow and sluggish, old and sedate, we’ll find a way to make sure they don’t miss you—too much!

In addition to living with dogs and cats my whole life (including even all through college) I've taken care of both since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, family, and colleagues have relied on me to walk, feed, play with, bathe, and tend their furry family members. This has included everything from the youngest toddling pups to ancient waddling hounds, and from shelter rescues to pedigreed purebreds. I've always had a special affinity for canine and feline pals, even the more cantankerous or skittish, and am happiest spending quality time with them all. Having not yet replaced my most recent losses, who passed from old age just before Covid lockdowns, I have big space in my life and my heart to give to your cherished companions.

Excellent! Gavin kept us updated and took great care of our dog over the long holiday weekend.
Gavin was exceptional watching our sweet pup! He was very proactive in communication & sending updates, and very responsive. Peu was well taken care of and he seemed very attentive to her needs. He did not shy away from her big personality (or the fact she is a 100 pound puppy), played well with her, and did an awesome job overall with her. Would definitely recommend!
Gavin was phenomenal. He sent me frequent clever notes and photos of all my pets which was not only reassuring but also entertaining. Everyone was clearly well cared for and we certainly hope to have Gavin back for a stay in the future!
