Pet care experience

I’ve been running my own dog care business in Ealing for the past two years, building on the experience I gained working for a well-established dog walker, Deek, in Shepherd’s Bush. Deek has been in the business for over 10 years, and during the two years I worked with him, we walked between 50 and 60 dogs daily in groups of eight. Each group was walked for an hour, Monday to Friday. Over the course of those two years, I completed approximately 3,250 group walks, equating to 3,250 hours of hands-on experience managing groups of dogs. This intensive schedule gave me a deep understanding of handling different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels, as well as managing group dynamics and ensuring every dog received the care and attention they needed. I also have my own dog, who is 10 years old, extremely well-behaved, and highly tolerable and accepting of new dogs that join the house. She is never any trouble and sets a calm and positive tone in the home, making things easier for everyone. Most of my customers come through word of mouth, which is a testament to the relationships I’ve built with both dogs and their owners. Rover is simply an additional way to promote my services. My priority is always my existing customers and those referred through word of mouth. New inquiries from Rover are welcomed, but I ensure my approach remains focused on delivering high-quality care and attention to all the dogs in my care. My approach is all about creating a safe and secure, home-from-home environment for your dog. I go out of my way to ensure every dog is comfortable, calm, and happy while they’re with me. This begins with taking the time to meet your dog beforehand. A trial day is essential so I can observe how your dog interacts with the group and ensure they’ll fit in seamlessly. I prioritize the well-being of the dogs already in my care, making it important to take things slow when introducing new dogs. It’s not just about finding care for your dog—it’s about making sure it’s the right environment for them. Whether it’s walking, daycare, or boarding, I aim to provide a safe, structured, and stress-free environment. I want every dog to return to their owner as happy, healthy, and comfortable as they were when they arrived. My passion for creating a positive and enjoyable experience for every dog drives everything I do.

Gavin is absolutely brilliant with my girls, he sends photo/video updates and looks after them really well. We are so happy we found him. The girls have stayed with him twice now and they were really excited to see him, their ‘home away from home’ .

Our two boys (cocker spaniels) had the most amazing week with Gavin! They were clearly well cared for and happy but tired from all the fun on returning home. Gavin was professional, friendly and a true dog lover who our dogs loved in return.

Gavin looked after my girls really really well, he sent photos and updates. I was nervous leaving them with someone new but I really didn’t need to be. When I collected them they were both very happy.
