Hi! My name is Gavin. I’ve spent my whole life around dogs and have a lot of hands-on experience raising and caring for them. I raised my 5 year old Australian Shepherd while in college, and am currently raising a Golden Retriever puppy with my girlfriend. We also have two cats, so I’m happy to help with cat care as well. I’m very comfortable with dog training and can reinforce good habits while I’m with your pet. If it’s something you’re interested in, I’m also happy to share basic tips or work on specific things you’d like your dog to improve—just let me know. I live in Colonial Place in Norfolk but am willing to travel. I’m reliable, communicative, and can provide updates and photos during visits if that’s something you’d like. I offer walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and playtime, and I do my best to match your pet’s usual routine and needs. If your dog would benefit from socialization, I can bring one or both of my dogs along, or keep visits one-on-one, depending on your preference. They are both fully vaccinated. I take the safety and comfort of pets very seriously. In your home, I follow all your instructions—feeding, medications, routines—so your pet feels secure and cared for. In my home, I keep a calm, clean, and pet-friendly space where dogs and cats can play and relax safely. I’m comfortable with all kinds of pets—puppies, high-energy dogs, or shy cats—and I always let them set the pace for interaction. My goal is for pets to feel happy, relaxed, and loved while you’re away, so you can trust they’re in good hands.

Ive known Gavin basically my entire life—we grew up as neighbors in Crozet, VA and have been close friends ever since we were kids. We both had several pets growing up, and Gavin would occasionally pet sit for our family if we were ever out of town. We could always count on Gavin even from a very young age. Gavin is incredibly intelligent and driven. He plans to attend medical school and eventually become a doctor, and that level of discipline and responsibility shows in everything he does. He is one of the most trustworthy people I know. Anyone would be lucky to have Gavin care for their pet.
We had Gavin care for our dog, Grover and he was wonderful. Grover was an older dog, and Gavin was incredibly patient, attentive and responsible with him. We felt at ease leaving, knowing Grover was such in good hands.
Gavin exemplifies the highest level of respect and compassion for animal life. He treats his pets the way many people treat their own children. He is rarely seen without his dog and is almost always in the company of animals. He is a reliable friend and a healthcare professional, which leaves no doubt in my mind that he can give your pet the care it may need.

Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or a drop-in visit, I treat each pet like they’re part of my own family, and I’m happy to provide updates or photos so you know they’re doing well. I also work around your preferences—socializing with my dogs is optional, and I’ll follow any routines you provide.
