Information Gates M. would like to know about your pet

You usually know best what your dog needs so I'll let you decide what information is important! But I do have a handful of common things: • If we are doing a meet and greet at your residence please let me know where to park and an exact address about an hour before the scheduled meet and greet time; or whenever you are comfortable after we schedule! • I do additional things like watering plants and other Housesitting related things up to running errands! Just let me know any additional things you will need in the initial message if you can. • if you have a pet you would like me to care for that is not a cat or dog, but is more effort than your average plant or fish, please add them to the booking as a cat or dog according to how much care and attention they will need each day! The guide here being; low effort: label them as a cat (any animal that does not need a lot of interaction, but still needs to be fed/watered/cleaned up after. Ex. Insects, some reptiles, rodents, and ambibians.) high effort: label as a dog (maybe needs more interaction or enrichment, or needs significantly more cleaning up after. But most not cat or dog animals can be safely put into the cat pricing category!

A typical day

Drop-ins: this can include feeding/water, medication, walking, playtime/enrichment, or even just pets and hanging out! I also have experience in playing the "I'm totally not looking at you!" game until they are comfortable enough for interaction with both dogs and cats!

Pet care experience

Hi! I've worked and lived with dogs my whole life. I worked for many doggy daycares, two training facilities, and a vet; all while pet sitting on the side I love every dog and their unique personality. I like to joke that i speak dog! If you're the kind of person that says "I know this sounds crazy but i swear we have full conversations!" Then you can be SURE I'll get along with your little human trapped in a four legged body. I have experience with cats, some rodents and scaly critters, as well as horses and goats so there's really nothing you could have that I can't handle! 🐕🦮🐕‍🦺🐩🛷 <-----sled dogs!!! They're a team! Id love to team up with your dog to have the most exciting time ever while you have to be away!!!

Gates did an AMAZING job with both of my cats. They were so communicative and I can tell my cats really loved their company. Would recommend to anyone in the OKC area who wants their animals in good hands!!!!

Excellent service. Gates is super reliable, communicative throughout the entire booking, and takes of my little guy. I will continue to rebook! Thank you!

Gates usually walks Guillermo twice a week. I had a vacation coming up but my dog was sick so I couldn’t take him to boarding. Luckily, Gates was available to stay with him and even took him to the vet when needed! Gates was great! Spent lots of quality time with my pup! Great communication, and lots of super cute pics!! A lifesaver for sure!

Sadly, there were several issues. 2 out of 4 of my dogs are geriatric dogs. I gave her details on their care. I offered to board one of them because she does have some more difficult issues but she assured me she was fine with keeping Missy. Missy has difficulty getting up and if you try to help her when she can’t get up, she gets scared and will growl. I told Gates not to try to lift her up unless she slips a muzzle on her nose. The first day Missy had problems getting up. I certainly understand someone may not be comfortable so I was trying to communicate with Gates other options but she didn’t respond to my texts. After almost 3 hours of not hearing from her, I finally asked my sister to go check on my dogs. Gates had left my house to do a drop in visit and left a friend at my house that is not with Rover and Gates did not return for almost 3 hours. Missy was still on the floor. If Gates had been there to answer my texts, this could have been resolved much earlier. She indicated she was having some personal issues and I was trying to work with her and stressed to her that communication needed to be better. I have outdoor cameras so I can see when people come and go. I don’t believe she even stayed at my house the last night as her car arrived the next morning a little after 8 am. I had also booked her to stay with my dogs 2 nights later so when I left to come home I texted her to say after she let the dogs out at noon, she could go and for her to come back at 5:30 the next day. She texted me back ok. 2 minutes later she texted again and said she was sorry but she couldn’t come back and she was sorry to cancel at the last minute. When I returned home, several lights had been left on, dirty dishes in the sink, dirty countertops, and a bedroom door I had asked her to keep closed so the dogs couldn’t in was wide open. Finally, a couple of branches on my aloe had somehow got broken off which isn’t a big deal but instead of throwing them away they were brought into the den and laid on my leather coffee table top. The juice from inside damaged a quarter-sized spot on the leather. I chose her because of her previous ratings. I am a pet sitter myself and I make sure my clients know what is going on with their pets when I’m caring for them. Hopefully, things that happened here is a one time thing. I hate giving bad ratings. I at least gave her 2 stars because my dogs are fine and she obviously was having some personal issues but I was not able to really enjoy my time away because I spent much of the time trying to get her to communicate so issues could be resolved. And she put me in a real bind by canceling the next day at the last minute.
