I'm 100% retired so I have full control of my schedule. I don't look at pet sitting as a chore but as an opportunity to spend time with a cat or dog. I'd rather spend an hour with a cat or dog than I would with most people.

Safety, trust & environment
For now I only intend to take care of animals in the owners home. I would expect the owner to provide detailed instructions regarding the specific services that they want and would fulfill those 100% and then spend some time socializing with the animal if it is receptive. To build trust I would text a picture of their pet each time I visit the owners home.
Information Gary M. would like to know about your pet
There are a quite a few. Dietary restrictions, medicinal needs, notable behaviors, physical ability\limitations, playing preferences, favorite toys, hot buttons (doorbells for example), on leash behaviour, house rules (on\off furniture etc.), potty needs, known commands, likes and dislikes. Probably others but this is a good start.
A typical day
I LOVE dogs, always have and I mainly signed up on Rover to get a chance to spend some time with dogs because I so enjoy being with them but don't have the opportunity. I've always had a great rapport with dogs, I love them and they seem to know it. I don't currently own a dog (but I have in the past) because I'm typically gone about 3 months of the year, often internationally and it would not be fair to the dog. As for activities walks are obviously a big one but if you have a fenced yard I like to play fetch with a tennis ball or other toy. For an indoor dog we can play tug of war or hide and seek with a favorite toy. If your dog is a cuddler then I'd be happy to snuggle him\her and read a story as they just like being talked to. I'd also ask you, the owner, what type of activity your dog would most enjoy.

Pet care experience
I've been a cat owner continuously for the last 28 years and love meeting new cats whenever I can. We currently have two cats, Rosie and Hazel whom we love dearly. I'm very used to all of the tasks associated with cat care with the exception of IV medication. I also love dogs and decided to sign up on here so I could get the chance to meet more dogs as I get plenty of cat-loving at home.
Reviews
We wouldn't use anyone else !
We whole heartedly trust Gary for the excellent care of our cat while away .

Gary regularly watches my cat and provides excellent service. I get pictures and written updates with every drop in, which makes me feel like my cat is taken care of well.
We trust Gary for the best care and would not use anyone else !
