Comfortable and caring dog sitting
Hi, I'm Gareth, an aspiring author who works from home and has loved any and all animals since being a child. My life has almost always involved a canine friend of sorts, caring for/living with dogs that range from giant Burmese Mountain dogs in the Australian Bush to gentle daschunds who love a bit of pampering. I live in a spacious house on the outskirts of St Albans with a large garden that is safe and secure for dogs of all sizes to roam and explore. My work gives me the flexibility to shape my day around your dog's needs - just a two minute walk from the Wick nature reserve and a short drive to Heartwood Forest gives plenty of options for adventure. I currently share the home with my mother, who loves dogs of all shapes and sizes, so come evening, they will have plenty of choice for whom to seek affection from. We are happy to work around any training or rules you may have for your pet and strive to give them a holistic experience while staying :)

Kobe had a wonderful stay with Gareth. I would highly recommend him – it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Gareth took the time to learn about Kobe before his stay and cared for him so well throughout the weekend. We received lots of updates and photos, which was really reassuring and lovely to see. Kobe had a great time and was so happy there. We would love to book with Gareth again in the future. He’s such a kind, caring person and clearly has a genuine interest in animals. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for Gareth — Exceptional Care and Genuine Trust Gareth was absolutely outstanding while looking after our girl, Meg, during our trip to France. We were anxious leaving her — especially after a vet visit the day before and the added worry of her needing medication — but from the very first update Gareth sent, it was clear she was completely at ease with him. The photos and messages showed a relaxed, happy Meg: having cuddles, going out regularly, and looking utterly content. She was settled, confident, and clearly trusted him. That trust was obvious the moment we returned too — when I said “come on then, let’s go,” she looked straight at Gareth for reassurance before moving. You can’t fake that. Dogs know who makes them feel safe. Gareth also handled her medication brilliantly. She took her pills without any fuss, and he kept her routine consistent, which gave us real peace of mind. This level of care is rare. Gareth didn’t just look after Meg — he genuinely cared for her, and she felt it. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants complete confidence that their dog is in safe, loving hands. We would be more than happy to leave Meg with him again.
