I work remotely and am able to take dogs from 9am Friday through to 7pm Monday. As a dog owner regular walks and toilets breaks are built into my day and I’ve always go time for play and enrichment games.

I live in a flat (3rd floor with lift - no balcony) with a calm relaxed older dog who loves company. Whilst I have no garden I have access to green space for toilet trips and sniffy walks. At weekends I like to visit a private secure dog walking field to give the dogs a good run around before heading home for some cuddles. I have a crate if required and for travelling (to a secure field) I have a boot guard or dog seatbelt as required.

A typical day
I really enjoy playing with a dog and using enrichment games to help keep their mind occupied. A typical day will involve lots of walks around the local parks, games and enrichment and at weekends we’ll also go to a secure field for some games or venture to a local National Trust location for a wonder through the grounds and wooded areas with the opportunity for a pup cup (if allowed) before heading home for a relaxing afternoon with lots of cuddles.

Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and have been a proud dog owner for the past three years. I also regularly care for friends’ and family members’ dogs during both short visits and longer stays, looking after dogs ranging from young puppies to older adults. As the owner of a senior dog myself, I understand the specific needs of dogs in their retirement years and take a calm, patient, and thoughtful approach to their care. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and love playing with them daily. I make sure they get the right amount of exercise and mental stimulation, using games, training prompts, and exploration to keep them active, happy, and healthy. For me, dog care is about building trust, routine, and lots of tail wags.

Gareth walked my Cavapoo Peroni for several years and was amazing. She is a nervous and anxious dog but felt comfortable with Gareth since day 1. He became her favourite person!! We don’t live locally anymore and it has been impossible to find someone as attentive, caring, reliable and responsible as him to look after her. Would 100% recommend.
