As an artist and student attending Bard College, I structure my days to be present and attentive; qualities that naturally extend to the animal friends I care for. My schedule is flexible in the evenings and on weekends, which means I can accommodate night visits, drop ins, and extended weekend stays with ease. Caring for animals is a grounding and joyful part of my routine. Whether it’s early morning feeds before class, relaxing evening walks, or playful visits on weekends, I prioritize each animals' comfort and happiness as part of my daily flow.

Information Gabrielle A. would like to know about your pet
Your animals are in your pack as much as we are in theirs. I want them to feel as comfortable with me as they do with you. That’s why I always ask about their temperament, whether they’re playful, shy, protective, or a little anxious. I’ll always check in about their feeding schedule, portions, and any allergies so their routine stays the same. I like to know their bathroom habits, how often they go out or use the litter box, and if they’ve ever had accidents or marking behaviors. Knowing their commands and training cues helps me keep things consistent, speaking a language they’re familiar with, slang, tones, etc. I’ll also ask about their exercise needs and how they do on walks, like if they pull or react to dogs, people, or bikes. Also, any triggers or fears, like thunderstorms, fireworks, or loud noises. I’ll check if there is any bite history or guarding behaviors so I can respect their boundaries. I also ask about health concerns, medications, and mobility to keep them feeling their best. If your pet tends to bolt, I’ll make sure they stay safe. And of course, tell me about their quirks and comforts, their favorite toys, nap spots, or little habits that make them who they are. I want them to feel happy and at ease while you’re away!
A typical day
Every animal friend has their own personality, so I always pay attention to what they love most. For playful pups, I’ll bring their favorite toys for fetch, tug, or gentle training games to keep their minds active. For cats, I create little adventures with wand toys, tunnels, or bird watching time. I also love giving calm snuggles, brushing, and quiet companionship for pets who just want company. Your pet’s routine and happiness are my top priority.

Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m Gaby, and I’ve been caring for beloved animal friends, including dogs, cats, (and even ducks!) for private clients over the past six years. Whether it’s a daily walk, an overnight stay, or simply some loving company while you’re away, I treat every animal as if they were my own. I’m reliable, experienced, and passionate about what I do, and I’m now expanding my pet care services through Rover to reach even more furry (and feathered) friends. References from long time clients are happily available upon request. I believe trust is everything when it comes to your pets. Let’s connect! Reviews

Gabrielle is an amazing dog sitter! I had to book her quite last minute and she was so kind and conscientious and took excellent care of Nep and my home. I can't recommend her enough!!!
Gabby is absolutely amazing with my German Shepherd, Achilles. She has watched him for me multiple times, and I trust her completely. Handling a dog of his size and strength isn’t something just anyone can manage, but Gabby is confident, calm, and caring with him every time. He adores her, gets plenty of exercise, and I always come home to a happy, well cared for pup. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter and highly recommend her!

Wow! Wow wow! Gaby was the best companion Kevin could ask for in my absence. She took time to get to know him, listened to all my paranoid instructions, sent regular photos and updates, and left my house completely spotless. Most importantly, I came home to a completely well fed, well exercised super chill dog who seems to have had the best week ever!
I cannot recommend Gaby highly enough. Not only is she SUCH a nice human, she took great care of our BIG pack of dogs, was communicative, sent pictures and was wonderful with them. It was a pleasure getting to know her and she was so good with all our dogs who are rescues and have their quirks. Our older dog is very emotionally needy and vocal and she was great with him. Another of our dogs is very shy and she let her approach at her pace and did not rush her. It was so sweet seeing the pics of the dogs in their spots all ready for bed and gave us peace of mind while we were away from them. We also SO appreciated that she was able to help even though we reached out the day before our trip!
