Pet care fits into my daily routine great, as it is the highlight of my day. Just like humans, pets need a routine too. I am always more than happy to help somebody with their own pets needs when away.

Safety, trust & environment
In my apartment, I feed dogs in separate rooms to avoid any potential fights. When I am at my classes, I crate my dogs to prevent accidents or any destructive behaviors while I’m gone. When at a client's home, I stick strictly to the information and schedule given to me, as I like maintain a pets schedule as much as possible as a lot of pets are already confused when their owners aren't around.

Information Gabby W. would like to know about your pet
If a dog has any known health issues, any known aggression and what triggers it, the schedule a dog is used to, if up to date on shots, and if they are spayed/neutered (this is only something that would matter to me if I am boarding around my dogs).
A typical day
I like to ask owners what kinds of activities and games their dog/cats enjoy, and go along with those. For dogs, nice long walks in parks, trails, or other places are usually always appreciated. Playing with toys, balls, even a stick are fun for dogs. Some dogs prefer to just relax, and I'm 100% okay with that! It always depends on what instructions are given to me though.

Pet care experience
I am currently a senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign majoring in Animal Sciences on the pre-veterinary medicine track. I have been an animal lover since a very young age, being raised around many different animals and fosters. I have a soft spot for cats and dogs, as well as small animals such as rodents, amphibians, reptiles, and fish. I have had experience with dogs and cats of all sizes, many different breeds, and of all ages/stages of life. In the last couple of years, I have worked as a dog bather and doggy daycare attendant. I have shadowed a local companion animal veterinarian (focusing mainly on dogs and cats), as well as working at a dog shelter. On campus, I worked as a medical team member at a TNR & adoption center for cats for a bit over a year.

Reviews

Gabby was the perfect sitter for my cat Mia! She sent regular updates including lots of photos. I felt very comfortable leaving Mia in Gabby’s care and would not hesitate to use again!

Gabby is a lovely pre- vet major who adores dogs and attends to every detail. MacKinnon was safe, happy and occupied! Thank you Gabby! Julie and Gary

Gabby was truly amazing! Not only was she wonderful to and with our Sophie, but she was a delight to work with!! We will definitely request Gabby’s services again.

As a repeat customer I highly recommend Gabby for any dog- or cat-sitting needs you might have. She made drop-in visits for my 7-month old kitten Mochi for a recent trip, and like the first time I was extremely happy and grateful for the level of care that she gave to my very needy kitty. Everything went perfectly, and Gabby even brought Mochi some toys to play with so she wouldn’t get lonely when I was away. I’m really glad that I hired Gabby, and I know Mochi is too 😺 🐈⬛
