I'm a 23-year-old recent graduate. I've lived in London my whole life. I am a barista part-time and have been a pet sitter on Madpaws in Australia for the past year (I am happy to share that profile to see reviews etc.). I love early mornings, being outside, especially at the beach. My biggest hobbies include pilates, running, reading and going to the cinema. I can keep up with energetic pets that require lots of stimulation, but I also love hanging out with couch potatoes. I have always loved all kinds of animals ever since I was little. My current pets include a hamster called Russell and a cat called Peaches. I have pet sat for family and friends for years now and love every experience. I have extensive knowledge of dog breeds and the different characteristics of each; my dad has owned a pet food business for over forty years where I worked for years. It was where I first developed my love for animals and their care. I understand all the different nutritional and mental aspects of keeping pets as happy and healthy as possible. I also understand the different cues to behaviour and comfort of an animal, to make sure all situations are stress-free and fun. I want to look after other pets to expand my knowledge and just generally enjoy the company of different animals, which is when I'm happiest. I've looked after pets of various family and friends, with a range of temperaments and lifestyles. My most consistent pet sit was with an extremely strong and energetic Staffordshire bull terrier, whom I adore, but who required a specific type of pet sitter. Sometimes we would need to go very early in the morning when the park was quiet, and generally, I had to be strong in case of a quick pull. All of which I was more than happy to do so. He also made me experienced in dog behaviour, constantly looking for signs of anxiety or stress, looking at breathing patterns or body language, which would ultimately make him and me the happiest and healthiest we could be. He has taught me a great deal about the various types of dogs, specifically those linked to breed behaviour. At the same time, however, I've looked after Labrador Retrievers and Border Collies who are super chilled out and extremely attentive, allowing for more varied socialisation. I love all types of dogs, each with its own unique needs and lifestyle. I also have a cat and a hamster as my personal pets. I adore the pair of them and love taking care of them and hanging out with them. Each cat is so unique, and allowing them to dictate their socialisation is crucial.
