I work from home about 1/3 of the time and let my dog free roam due to being able to trust her. We routinely go on walks and play fetch to keep the high energy at bay. Since I already own a pet, it is easy to incorporate another into our lives.

I have a fenced yard where my own Golden Retriever loves playing in and has all the sticks that she could dream of. I let her out routinely in the morning, when I get home when we play fetch and then before going to bed. Since she is high energy, we tend to go on at least one walk a day in the neighborhood.

I find it important to know what a dog's current schedule is and what their needs are. Do they prefer a walk in the neighborhood where they are most comfortable or would they like to socialize with people and dogs at a park? What are their energy levels? Do they pull on the leash? etc. How are they in cars?
A typical day
What fun activities will you do with the dogs you watch? Do you have special places you like to go on walks? Whether it is house sitting or going for a walk, it is important to have a decent time outside as well as inside if they are being house sat. I enjoy driving to Katy Trail and going on a walk their for stimulation and relaxing walk.

I did the most I could to get my very own dog in college and have not regretted a second of having her. My family has always had dogs in the house and I understand how some times life gets busy and we need a little help. I hope that I can provide that help for you.
