The Pawfect Place 🐶 🐾

I have taken care of many animals over the years… right from when I was 6 years old! Growing up in New Zealand, I owned many different types of pets from rabbits to horses. My family have always owned dogs and have had several different breeds, all with their own unique personalities so I know how to adapt the care I give to ensure your beloved family member gets the best care!

Sadly my 2 mini sausages didn’t settle with Fiona. I dropped them off at 530pm (approx) and at 850pm the same evening she was messaging me advising that she feared one of my dogs was showing aggression. I have 2 miniature sausage dogs. If you can’t cope with them, then you really should question whether you can cope with any dog. Fiona messaged and said they had messed in her kitchen and then the following day advised that they had kept her up all night barking and scratching. The following morning, I agreed for my dad to pick them up. When he arrived, she was not in the flat but my dogs were. Dad could hear them. He called her and she said she didn’t know when she’d be home, So he didn’t collect them as he couldn’t. I then arranged for my mum to collect them later that day. Mum said that Fiona was waiting at the flat door, dogs already on the leads and just gave the leads over. No interaction and didn’t say bye. Didn’t let them. Nothing. They were barking a lot and Fiona’s response was ‘see what I mean, they just keep barking’. Mum said they were stressed and as soon as they got to her car, chilled out, stopped the barking and just wanted love. That evening, my dogs didn’t keep any food down, they were sick. This is a definite sign of stress. Please be aware that Fiona has a flat. I didn’t know until I dropped them off, but she has no garden. She also has 2 very young children. My dogs are around children all the time and I did know that she had 2 children. She told me that when we met her (not at her flat) prior to agreeing to her looking after the dogs. I have never had worries of my dogs being left with anyone let alone children, but Fiona said she feared that one of mine showed signs of aggression. If you are caring for a dog, you should walk them, feed them, show them attention and play with them as you would your own dog. Hence why people use river. This was not demonstrated and was a total waste of time and money. I would not recommend and would advise that other dog owners be cautious and careful if choosing Fiona to care for your pooches

Fiona and her family were brilliant. We were worried as we had not left with Maisey with anyone she doesn't know before but Fiona provided us with regular pupdates which were super reassuring, it was lovely to see Maisey smiling and enjoying her very own holiday. Fiona was also really accommodating when our flight got delayed. I cannot recommend her and her family enough, my only selfish hope is that she doesn't get too busy for us to book Maisey in again! ?

Fiona and her family took excellent care of Shadow over our holiday and he has never been so happy when we've left him before. He was in better shape then when we left him ( he needed to slim!) and all our instructions were followed. I highly recommend them and we'll be booking with Fiona again.

Had a great experience with Fiona looking after our golden retriever for 3 nights. She was well looked after, she settled in quickly and we received regular updates showing her adventures and to put us at ease. Fiona was friendly and professional to deal with. Thank you.

I am a mum to two young children so I spend a lot of time at home so am able to make sure your furbaby is well cared for. If for whatever reason I need to pop out, my husband would be at home so your pet would never be left alone for long periods of time. I am here to offer a few services for your beloved pets. From boarding where your pet will stay in my family home to dog walking where I'll take your fur baby to a local park etc. I tend to do long walks around 4 miles or so, but can take different equally as fun routes if your pet isn't up for as long walks! I live in the beautiful town of Dawlish so there is a countryside park around 10 minutes away, a few grassy areas and most importantly, the beach!

Safety, trust & environment

We currently live in a 2 bed ground-floor apartment with my 2 children and my husband. Although we don't have a garden, I take all our doggie guests out often during the day for short walk around the block so they have time to go toilet. These walks are separate to the 4 mile walks as previously mentioned! I can walk your dog as often as needed. Your pet will have free roam of the open plan kitchen and living room. They will be allowed on our comfy sofa to have a rest and cuddles! My kids are brilliant with pets, they are being taught how to handle animals safely and are learning when a dog has had enough playtime/ cuddles, and will never be left alone unsupervised with your pet. I am an extremely trustworthy and reliable person. You will be able to rest assured knowing that your pet is in the best care where they are being walked lots, played with and cuddled for the whole time your away. I will also send you updates and pictures while you are away so you can see for yourself how much fun your pet is having! And just so you can be absolutely certain I am one you can fully trust, I have a full enhanced DBS and can provide references if required.

A typical day

I love to provide stimulating and exiting activities for all pets in my care. I believe it is vital for an animals well-being to have things to do whether it be playing ball, having a run about in the local park, or sniffing out their favourite toys/treats… and a little cuddle too!
