Hi, I’m Fiona 👋 I’m a product designer and illustrator living in Leith. I'm cat parent to Coco, a cheeky, cuddly, snoozy/playful ten-year-old house cat. I’ve often used Cat in a Flat myself and have met some really wonderful cat sitters. I know how reassuring it is knowing your cats are well looked after and happy at home while you’re away, and as a sitter, I’d love to offer the same attentive care. I’ve been a cat owner for over eight years (since Coco was a fluffy wee two-year-old), and I also grew up with cats and have often looked after friends’ and neighbours’ cats. I’ve experience with cats of various ages and all sorts of personalities, from shy and nervous, to laid back, to full of energy and always ready for play. (I’m also no stranger when it comes to cleaning up messes!) I’m available to call in on your cats once or twice a day, and as I normally work from home, I can be quite flexible with timings and can stay for longer visits if your furry friend enjoys some company. I love spending time with cats so as well as the essentials (plus any household tasks like watering plants), I'm happy to spend quality time for cuddles, brushing, play or simply a bit of company (or all of the above!) I'll also send updates and photos, something I’ve always found puts me at ease when I’m away from my own cats. Fiona was very attentive when looking after my Lola. I was anxious about leaving her with someone new but my mind was soon put to ease once Fiona sent me photo updates! I would highly recommend Fiona to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly sitter!
This was our fist vacation for 2 years, and the first time that we were leaving Molly (15) and Arlo (1) for more than 1 night so we were anxious and wanted to find the right sitter. Right away we liked Fiona, at our initial meeting she talk quietly to them and allowed them to come to her. Fiona knows how to engage with cats. She offered more than just the standard "15 minute visit to feed, water and change litter box", since they were a social pair we were keen for someone just to "be with them". During the trip we received regular updates and photos, showing Fiona both playing with them, or just hanging out with them depending on their mood. But the important part is when we returned and Fiona popped round, both of our cats came out to greet her - that says the most, they trusted her and happy to see her. We will be booking Fiona for our future trips, and we hope you will too!
Fiona was a really attentive cat sitter, we felt totally reassured that Susie was being looked after whilst we were away. She kept us updated about her visits and how Susie was doing which we really appreciated. We would highly recommend her to any other cat owners!
Fiona is the absolute best! She spent so much time with my cat, giving her all the cuddles and attention, and checked in with me after every visit! I tend to feel a bit guilty leaving my cat alone in the flat, but with Fiona there to look after her I was able to have a totally carefree holiday!
