Pet care experience
CURRENTLY AWAY AT COLLEGE
***I am currently away at college and will be back to pet sitting for the summer of ‘27!! Hi! I’m Finn, I’m a college student who graduated from CCHS. I'm my neighborhood's go-to cat sitter and dog walker, and have experience with taking care of dogs, cats, horses, fish, and house plants. I've been frequently called a cat or dog whisperer. I'm an athlete so I have plenty of energy to work out high energy pets and can restrain big dogs if needed. I'm also not squeamish about cleaning up animal puke, poop, etc. I'm always working on tricks and obedience training with my dog-and even taught a couple tricks to my cat.

Ratings and reviews
Finley watched our newly-adopted 1-year-old dog who we were a bit nervous to leave alone so soon after adopting. Finley totally put us at ease with regular updates, adorable photos, and thoughtful and consistent communication. You could tell from the photos that our pup was loving their time together! Finley also took great care of our home and was completely trustworthy and respectful/responsible. We are so grateful and have nothing but the highest appreciation for this wonderful experience!

Finley loved and pampered our fur family while we were on vacation. He routinely sent us photos in which our dog and cat looked calm and happy. Our dog can be reactive to other dogs, but Finley handled everything like a pro!

Finn is very skilled at caring for cats. My cat is very shy and he warmed up to Finn almost immediately. Finn brushed my cat, took time to play with him and communicated with me regularly. I would hire Finn again in a hearbeat!
Finley stayed at our home and took great care of our Great Dane while we were away. We were sent regular updates and photos during their time together. And, without being asked Finley even washed the sheets, towels, and kitchenware before leaving the house. He will definitely be at the top of our Rover list next time we need a sitter.

Fin did a fantastic job looking after our elderly dog, who needed a lot of special care. Highly recommended!

Fin was great with our two small dogs for a 3-day stay. They were communicative and left our house clean and tidy. Thank you!

Calendar and availability
Schedule
My schedule: I’m doing pet sitting as a summer job (so I won’t be available September-onwards), so my schedule is quite flexible. I’ll mark any times I’m away on my calendar, and am open to working out dates and times with owners. My availability for housesitting and boarding usually fill up far in advance, but I accept what I can and usually can fit in drop ins and walks at short notice. For bookings with new clients I require a meet&greet beforehand, so requests must be made far enough ahead to give us both time for a M&G and for the owner to find other accommodations if we decide it doesn't work out. I do this because it gives both me and the owner extra security and so that the animal has a chance to meet me and get used to me with the owner present.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety measures I take: Rover has several safety measures built into the app, like not revealing phone numbers or showing addresses until bookings are confirmed (to schedule meet&greets you can send the address by text in the app but cannot text your phone number). I also always do meet&greets before working with new clients so that you and I both know the other is a real person and can communicate more about what kind of care the animal needs. This also gives the animal a chance to meet me in a safe environment. When walking, I take care to avoid potential triggers like other dogs and people. I also never let a dog off-leash unless I know them and trust they have reliable recall. In case of an emergency, I have a car and can transport animals to the vet.
Pets
A typical day
What bookings with me look like: Dog walking: for walks either the owner will be home to hand the dog off to me or I will need to let myself in to get the dog. I will send a message to let the owner know when I arrive. I start the timer on the rover card when I start walking, and spend the full half hour or hour I am booked for walking. During walks I let the dog set the pace and sniff as much as they like (unless they're trying to eat something they shouldn't). I will take care to avoid potential triggers like other dogs and people. I always take lots of photos and send a recap of how our walk went and if the dog peed and/or pooped. Drop-ins: for drop in visits I will spend either 30 minutes or an hour at your home with your animal(s). It this time I will do whatever animal care (feeding, litter box, let outside, etc.) you request, and will spend the rest of the time hanging out with the animal and giving them love. Please note, if you are away for several days, I do not recommend drop-ins be the only care you have for your dog and I will not accept bookings where dogs only get a couple drop ins a day. House-sitting: for housesitting, I will stay overnight at your home with your animal and do my best to replicate their typical routine to make their time without you as easy on them as possible. I will give dogs at least an hour of exercise a day unless otherwise requested, and of course spend lots of time cuddling and petting them. I will also do standard home maintenance like cleaning up after myself, taking in the mail, and watering plants. Please be aware that I cannot offer 24/7 care and will have to leave the house for a few hours at a time a couple times a day to work out, run errands, etc. I will always schedule times away around the animals schedule and will make sure they've eaten and gone out beforehand and will never leave them alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Boarding: boarding is mostly the same as house-sitting, just in my home and with my animals present. I have a cat and a dog, who you can find listed on my profile. Boarding is great for dogs who get on better with other dogs than people, as my dog is great with other animals. I will follow your pets routine of feeding and walk times, and spend lots of time hanging out with the animals. The same disclaimer about leaving the house applies here.

- I always do meet-and-greets with owners before stays where I ask a bunch of questions so I can best accommodate your pets. Please let me know about any special care your animal needs. It's also helpful to know what commands they know (for example, what hand signal you use when asking them to sit). Also if you’re ok with me giving them treats and what kind.
