I’m Finlay, dog sitter in York
Hi, I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and I’ve come back from university for a long holiday break and would love to welcome your dog into my family’s home to stay. I’m also available for dog walking and day care. We can offer a fenced and safe garden, comfortable sofa and plenty of time for cuddles, company, walks and playtime to all the dogs that stay with us. Our home is very dog friendly and full of treats and toys. We live local to the river and multiple green spaces for a variety of walks. Our family dog, Willow, is 5 years old, she’s an independent miniature poodle. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before any booking if you would like to see how your dog gets on. I can also easily accommodate separate walks for your dog if you prefer. I want to make your pet feel like this is their home from home so if they have any special requests to make them feel comfortable then please feel free to ask 😁

Finlay is punctual, polite and friendly. Cookie loves her walks with Finlay. She's quite anxious in stormy weather but is calm with Finlay. I trust Finlay to come to my house when I am out and walk Cookie.
Finlay has looked after and walked our Swiss Shephard’s, Star and Ziggy, who are now 4 years old. I would have no hesitation in recommending Finlay to dog sit or for dog walking. He is conscientious and extremely reliable and easy to work with.

Schedule
I’m back from university so I’m available most days, including weekends. I will also be taking care of my own dog when my parents are at work, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog.

Safety, trust & environment
I can easily accommodate a dog crate, if your dog is happiest sleeping there. I have a medium-sized fenced garden and live close to Bootham park and the river for nice walks. Your dog is welcome on the sofa and my priority is making them welcome and comfortable.

A typical day
The usual day will consist of one walk in the morning and another in the afternoon. And then sit on the sofa and relax before bed with cuddles!
