Hello! I’m Felix—your neighborhood walker, drop-in sidekick, and boutique host for a small circle of daycare and boarding dogs. I’ve raised and trained champion Boxers for over 20 years, so high-energy dogs, big personalities, and stubborn negotiations are familiar territory. My experience includes AKC Canine Good Citizen puppy classes, German Schutzhund foundation work, and advanced off-leash obedience. I split my time between independent consulting and pet care, which gives me the flexibility to keep my client list manageable and the care personal. Whether we’re covering some ground, hunting down a hidden patch of green, or letting a neighborhood inspector lead today’s sniff safari, I adjust to the dog in front of me. After years of corporate meetings, I’ve learned dogs are usually easier to negotiate with anyway.

We are so grateful to have found Felix! We asked him to help get our high-energy puppy used to in-home daycare, and he has gone above and beyond from day one. Before starting, Felix provided a detailed, thoughtful plan of how he intended to introduce Loki to his routine, which immediately put our minds at ease. After each session, he follows up with thorough feedback on how it went. He even takes the extra time to share practical tips and exercises we can practice at home to help Loki feel more comfortable in new environments. Loki is a work in progress, but Felix has been incredibly patient and genuinely willing to work with him to help him get the support he needs. We couldn't ask for a more attentive or dedicated dog sitter!
Monty loved his weekend retreat at Felix’s! He always loves sun bathing and joining in on whatever Mabel is doing. I appreciate that Felix sends detailed updates throughout and that I don’t need to be worried about anything happening to Monty while I’m out in the mountains!

Schedule
My consulting schedule works well alongside pet care, and I keep my calendar manageable instead of stacking bookings from morning to night. That gives me time for neighborhood walks and drop-ins while maintaining a small, well-matched group of daycare and boarding dogs. Fewer bookings means more attention, flexibility, and time to actually enjoy the dogs in my care—which is kind of the point.

I start by learning your dog’s routine, communication style, and any quirks I need to know before you hand me the leash, keys, or honorary membership to the family. On walks, I’m comfortable navigating busy neighborhoods, creating space around triggers, changing routes, and adjusting to the dog in front of me. During drop-ins, I follow your routine, respect your home, and let you know if I notice anything outside the ordinary. For daycare and boarding, my dog-friendly indoor space opens directly into a fully fenced backyard with pet turf, pavers, and excellent drainage. Dogs have room to zoom, sniff, play, sunbathe, or investigate whatever breaking news has appeared along the fence—with zero mud during Seattle’s rainy season. It’s a bit of a Ballard unicorn, and keeping my groups small gives every dog room for supervised play, individual attention, and a quiet place to decompress.
Pets
A typical day
Some dogs want to move, so we’ll pick up the pace and turn the neighborhood into a workout. Others are professional neighborhood inspectors who prefer a slow sniff safari through Ballard’s parks, green spaces, and suspicious patches of grass. Drop-ins follow whatever normal looks like at home—potty breaks, meals, play, companionship, or some quality couch supervision. Daycare and boarding aren’t an all-day canine block party. The rhythm may include short sniff/relief walks, backyard play, enrichment, social time, meals, naps, and individual decompression breaks based on what each dog needs. Dogs and puppies rotate through quiet crate time so everyone gets a chance to settle without the rest of the crew providing live commentary. Crates are never used as punishment, and coming out leads to relief, social play, a short sniff walk, or something fun. Dogs need to be crate trained or able to settle away from my attention. A little adjustment in a new environment is completely normal, and I can assess that during a meet and greet or trial daycare. Perfect isn’t required, but foundational crate or separation training falls outside my standard care while I’m maintaining a calm experience for the dogs already comfortable with the routine. I do help dogs with moderate separation anxiety and puppies continuing crate training that has already started at home. After a meet and greet or trial daycare, I may be able to take on a pup who’s a good fit for that additional support. An additional fee applies while they require the extra time and handling. Once they’ve adapted to the normal daycare rhythm in my home, they can continue coming without the additional fee. Explore, play, eat, chill, repeat.

- Every dog has their own operating manual—routines, motivations, strong opinions about other dogs, and personal philosophies on the existence of squirrels. Tell me about their leash manners, favorite words, recall, social skills, comfort settling, triggers, neighborhood nemeses, and anything else you’d want me to know before we get started. They don’t need perfect manners. I want to learn their version of Webster’s Dictionary so we’re speaking roughly the same language. Honest details are always appreciated. I’d much rather know the nitty gritty than discover Chapter 7 together while your dog is trying to drag me toward a squirrel. Although that does make for a good side quest.
