The first memory I have of a dog is when I was a small child and first met my grandmother’s Rottweiler. This dog was so sweet and patient and I learned early on how gentle you must be when treating dogs. Our family has owned dogs throughout my whole life and I now have a border collie/corgi mix who is 5 years old, as well as two beloved cats! We have owned chihuahuas, golden retrievers and black labs, giving me a ton of experience caring for different types of dogs! About me: I am an 25 year old student at WWU, and while I can’t offer pet-sitting in my own home at this time, I’m happy to come to yours! I’m responsible, detail-oriented and a definite people (and pup!) person. It gives me great joy to take care of others, whether they are human, canine, or feline, and I do everything I can to provide an excellent experience for my clients. I’m also very active and enjoy taking long walks—bringing a pup along with me makes it even that much better! Providing a consistent experience for the pups in my care is extremely important and I make sure to ask all the right questions ahead of time so I understand the full context of care my clients expect to receive. I also want to allow them the time to ask me any questions they might have so that both parties are on the same page and any anxieties are eased right away! I get to know the dogs by bringing treats and toys, and allowing them to take as long as they need to sniff and get to know me. Some dogs take longer than others to warm up to new people and that’s okay! I am available during evenings on weekdays and during the day on weekends.
